Looking for a place to buy this or information on how to order directly from Clevo?

I only found it on IBUYPOWER and they do not offer full hd resolution.

Does anyone have experience ordering from Clevo or any of the other ones like them?
Do they require much to get a reseller account going?

I know some of the european guys have it...

I don´t think this system will support FHD, i think HD+ is a very good compromise with that system spec

And completely unacceptable compromise, unfortunately. The deal killer is that resolution is an absolute requirement, and if it still was in existence I would require the 1920x1200.

Giving up that much screen space isn't even an upgrade for the work that I do. According to the Clevo site, 1920x1080 is supported.

This leads me to want to just order the barebones from clevo and fill out the rest myself. So still hoping someone has any experience attempting this.

This model won't be available in full HD until the 16th.

Not to hijack the thread completely, but how's the quality of it? I'm seriously considering it but I haven't seen much in the way of hands-on impressions. :) 1920x1080 in a 15.6" with Optimus for that price is excellent.

I haven't yet seen the 1920x1080 screen as it's not yet released, but as soon as I get my hands on one I'll be sure to tell you. The laptop itself reminds me of a slim Clevo W860CU, at a 1.46" max height instead of 2" and it's a pound and a half lighter.

It's also my avatar, it seems like not many retailers are carrying it.

Thanks! How solid is the laptop itself? Any major flaws that one should know about? I hate buying laptops blind, but it seems like the only real option nowadays.

Edit: Oh, forgot to ask - is the touchpad decent? I'm not expecting an Apple-quality one, but a cheap Alps touchpad would be unfortunate.

I actually haven't physically gotten one of these laptops yet as they were just released on Thursday night. However, when I get one in I'll be sure to update you folks.

LOL I was so excited at the find that I didn't even query about quality.

This was one of the laptops at the Nvidia Optimus display at CES 2010.
This was also the only one that I seen that was full hd.

I will assume that this is a pretty decent build quality machine or I don't think Nvidia would of had it as one of it's first Optimus machines and this was the only one of the unbranded makers so maybe that means something.

Check out Darks site and check the pics it shows a pretty decent build quality keyboard and just from the pics the touchpad doesn't look horrible.

I am ordering mine the 19th so when I get it I will post some thoughts back here. In my travels I ran into many looking for something like this notebook so if it is good I am going to show this thing off to them and steal some sales from HP, Dell, Apple. This thing has better stats than them all. And not that much thicker, about .4 inches.

Although the GPU isn't exactly the greatest I think most would make the compromise of about 9-10FPS in most games for the switchable graphics.

If you can't tell I am pretty excited about this notebook, and that doesn't happen often.

TL : DR = I will report back with a good review when I get mine and be pretty cool if others would too. Darkpcs.com has these labeled on their site as the D15.

Really? Any ideas where it is being sold in Europe? I ask because I'll be back in Europe in a couple of weeks and really like the look of this.

Sorry to bump this old thread but I just came across this notebook whilst searching xoticpc.com. Im based in the UK and was wondering what anyone can tell me about this notebook? Will it be available in Europe/UK sometime? The FHD and Optimus really does appeal to me, 4hrs battery life on a 15" notebook...yes please!
    haha

Hey demonhotrod! Availability in Europe/UK depends on the importers there, but there are retailers (like myself and XoticPC) that ship all over the world if nobody across the pond ends up carrying it.

For more information on the notebook there's actually a huge thread here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/499301-sager-np5125.html

    Thanks for the link Shane
I'll have a bit of a browse and then take it from there.

Im not adversed to importing, it would just be a lot less hassle for me if I could get it from somewhere over here (just in case anything happens to go wrong).

The notebook itself looks good though
If you want a notebook with a high res screen , ability to play games and above average battery life, the options are near none. So it's nice to see something like this on the horizon
