Been looking at barebones laptops but how easy are they to build with everything else thats needed?

Its not that hard, at least compared to building a desktop. But it also depends who you order from. I've ordered bare bones from RJTech, and they ship the heat-sinks and other parts taken out of the notebook so it is very little time figuring out how to take things off. I don't know if other places do it differently. If you have any experience building desktops is not hard, but you have to know how to install a cpu/apply thermal paste, stuff like that. Usually the graphics card comes with the barebones, but if it doesn't, it may be a little difficult figuring out the best way to but on thermal paste/tape and the gpu heat sink.

Very easy if you have some basic knowledge of were everything goes.
I also ordered one from RJTech barebones and added:
1.QX9300 but switched to a Q9200
2.2x2GB RAM DDR3/1333
3.120 OCZ Vertex SSD
Used IC7 Diamond thermal paste.
Took about 30 minutes to put together and this was my first barebones laptop.
You can save quite a deal of money and get better hardware to install that most vendors do not not offer.
Results
Stock GPU clocks and OC'd GPU
Temps rise very little when OCing the GPU only 1 or 2 degrees more and very stable -
Any reccomended UK places to get a barebones system? I've spotted this on Play:

The 8600M GT found in that laptop is extremely weak compared to a 260M GTX found in a CLEVO barebones.
They should not even be mentioned in the same sentence.
Go here to check out some UK resellers not sure if they offer barebones systems but you can always ask.

Are there any of the Asus or MSI gaming laptops that are user upgradable for CPU, GPU, etc?
-
there are no asus barebones, but you can look into the msi 1651 barebone.

There are a bunch of barebones available from which you can choose... from Clevo, MSI, Compal, Arima, and a few others... OCZ actually brands some of these barebones and sells them, such as the Arima W840DI and others that really don't have many especial things. AVAdirect still sells one or two Asus barebones.
I built my M860TU without previous experience. Its not so hard... all I did was watch some youtube videos on how to apply thermal paste, and follow the service manual.
