Hey all, been a really long time since ive visited NBR but im in the notebook market again so here I am. Title says it all, im located in Canada and I am looking for a P150EM barebone. Checked out RJTech and their prices are pretty amazing, only issue being the shipping, tax etc. Does anyone have experience shipping across the border that can share their experience? Reflexnotebook also looks like a pretty good company, but no barebones.

Also, was hoping for the 7970m, but I am a bit hesitant now after reading about the Enduro issues. Is there some confidence that this issues will be addressed by the Winter? I don't mind having slightly crippled performance for a while if it will be addressed down the road.

    Thanks in advance :)

You can ask Reflexnotebook if they can get Sager to sell you a barebones laptop. Also, Eurocom may have them in barebones too. As for 7970m issues, looks like the consensus on the NBR is not that great. Many have jumped ship to 680m so to be safe, getting a Nvidia card is probably the way to go.

Been forever eh? I'll stop by OT soon I promise.

In regards to the laptop, I spoke with Reflexnotebook and I appreciate their quick and super-informative reply, but I need a barebone because I plan to purchase a i7 3920xm qs off of ebay, and I refuse to pay the ridiculous premium that comes with the OEM versions of the chip.

Also, my second idea was to just step down to the GTX 670/675m for now, and upgrade down the road. Is a motherboard upgrade usually needed to jump to the next series of GPUs?

I went from a GTX 560m to AMD 7970m no problem. As long as the next gen video cards support the MxM 3.0b port I think we should be able to upgrade without touching the mobo. Only issues are Clevo does not provide Bios updates and also looking for working drivers (usually require modded ones).

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :D

Well im gutting my desktop and getting the P370EM from Eurocom instead. Dave Ross at Eurocom was very patient, answered all my questions, and made it an easy process. Making the payment today and should have it in a week. Full review when I receive it.

Specs in my signature, adding the drives and another 8gb of RAM upon arrival. Thanks for the input!

Also, Dave says the 370EM/9370 doesn't have integrated graphics at all, so Enduro shouldn't be an issue even for single card set-ups.

Wow! Congrats on the beastly machine! Yes please, do let us know how the Crossfire 7970m fares against the HTWingnut's 680m SLi.
