    Hi there I'm currently struggling with the above laptop, I tried resetting the bios by pulling mobo battery and it's been dead ever since :eek: :eek:


    I wonder if anyone can tell me how too do a reset on this bios to see if it will resurect itself from the dead. :D :D :D

    Yes

    I can hear the cd drive whirring for a few secs than it sits for a about a minute then all the fans start up but thats it.


    I have pulled the mobo battery now and was going too leave it over night.

    have you pulled the normal battery too?

    I dont think having a BIOS update will help if the system doesnt even POST.

    Yes the main battery is out.

    Sorry I should have made it more clear in the OP I'm after a way of resetting the bios as opposed to an update. :D :D



    I've spent all day fannying around with this laptop.

    if you already pulled the CMOS battery (and all of the non-essential components: wifi-card, tv tuner, HDD, optical drive), then you will need to repair/replace the motherboard.

    It was working fine this morning.

    I had trouble getting windows too load so tried the battery out reset trick and now this.


    Oh well it's my mate problem again.

    if it worked this morning it might have a chance still, unless if the motherboard got damaged... from a short or something.

    Put the CMOS battery back in and see if it posts... maybe try to replace the CMOS battery if you have a spare sitting around.

    Took your advice about removing non-essential items, then re-seated the ram, and it worked. I did pull the ram earlier, so I think it was that.


    Windows installing as we speak. :D :D
