    Sorry about this simple question, but I'm completely new to Sager/Clevo.

    What is the difference between the D900C and the D901C? I checked Clevo's website under the detailed specs for both machines and couldn't find a single difference between them. Is there any difference?

    Will firmware and BIOS for one work with the other?

    D900C = blue chassis
    D901C = black chassis

    Did you even read the Clevo Guide sticky (under Deciphering the Model Number)?

    Or searched the forum before posting? ...this question has been asked a number of times.

    trias10...not to worry. Gophn has been working almost around the clock for the last several weeks to revise the Clevo Guide, which just went live.

    He is definitely not usually that cranky...he just needs a little sleep right now :D

    Precisely. Most people need a mulligan every once in a while, so don't worry too much about it; however, you should read the Guide as it's chock full of goodies.

    Nope, No one does.

    @ Goph - Maybe you can request chaz to put a "***PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING***" in the front of the title of the guide. That would save questions like these and help users to post in the approiate threads.

    Oh that is filthy :D

    can I have it?

    I think the blue looks awesome on it, too bad they don't commercialize it in the US too.

    I believe its a blue D901C.

    I have not physically seen a person with a D900C blue... only in promo pics and Clevo demos.

    I actually did read the Clevo Guide, as that is what brought me over from Alienware (canceled my 17x order) to the Clevo/Sager N9262 (which is arriving Thursday, via XoticPC).

    When I read it, I didn't see anything about model numbers. I see it there today. Maybe I read an old, outdated version?

    I think it's custom paint.

    Probably custom paint yes.
    Still a damn interesting one.
    Would've made it red with black combined somehow... :D

    Yes, I believe it is custom paint. The actual Clevo model was a much darker blue...similar to Navy Blue.

    Well, they thought the D901C looked better.

    It is kind of like the M570R when they decided to only carry the orange trim...but so many people requested the silver that they added it to their line later.

    At PowerNotebooks.com we have never had anyone request the D900C, and Sager had virtually no requests for it as well.

    Stocking the same thing in a different color creates inventory difficulties that most factories would like to avoid if possible. Henry Ford is famous for saying of the Model T Ford: "You can have any color you want...as long as what you want is black"

    Well, I'm pretty sure most people did not even know they had an option of requesting a different one.
    And 400$ for custom painting...hmm. I'd rather take that and go from an Ru to a D900C ...

    Either way,I think different colours , without extra cost would add more customers. You`d be surprised how many care about the look of the laptop.

    Most people just generally know it to be a part of the D900C series.
