Hi, i just got mi Clevo D900C..... and I scrubed up... just 2 days and I drop beer on the keyboard :(

I freeked out and dried and try to start it, at the beggining it would start, then i would, but the keyboard didnt work, i cleaned the key board and then the touch pad wouldn't work, and then It won't start, just turn on and hear the alarm beep.

Have to wait till tomorrow to take it to a repair place. CAn someone tell how bad could it get? I really need to know. thanks in advance.

How much liquid did you spill on the keyboard? You should let the machine sit and dry for at least 24 hours before even attempting to start it.

Ouch man, your best bet would be to send it in to the place you bought it from and hope they can fix it. Hopefully you just burned out the keyboard and nothing else.

Agreed, I suggest not fooling with the machine until you can get it to the repair center. You don't want to risk doing more damage to it.

    Alternatively, get a new one.

Probably best to leave it out in an airing cupboard overnight with all the components out if it's more than a year old. If this doesn't work, give it another day.

If this, again, doesn't work, try taking it to the repair place, or as I said above, get a new one.

and if doesnt work ill just take it to a repair place.

Getting a new one is not an option

Do not send it into a local repair place.... most likely they wont have any experience with these notebooks... and just overcharge you.

You should contact your Clevo vendor/reseller for their input.

Hopefully its just the keyboard thats shorted.... its only $50 to replace.

It just dryed it living next to the window just with the keyboard taken out, then I tryed a few ours ago and It worked perfectly, thought the camera look slower than yesterday but that might be another issue.

Im amazed how can a laptop recover from such a ****-up use like mine.

I really recomend Clevo because If it survived this means that's really somenthing.

Eather way I have to thanks everyone for your fast answers and support, I really start to like this forum.

    :D

Yes, Congrats that its working again. Just be careful though, it may work for a bit then go out again. Hopefully this won't be the case but be prepared in any event.

Sounds like you got really lucky. Glad to hear it. Take the $50 you would have spent on the keyboard or repair tech and buy some end tables for the couch. :p

Either that or some locks for the doors to keep the kids from running through! :D
