Hey guys.. as you know i got the lappy yesterday and i noticed i have a stuck red pixel.. and its really bugging me now that i know, its all i see on the screen (its only visible on black background but im a perfectionist so its hell for me).. and sadly clevos pixel policy is at least 7 dead ones or 3 in a 1cm2 to get a replacement..
Now my question is the following: Does anyone know where i can buy a 0-deapixel guaranteed LCD that would fit in my D900F (europe possibly if not than usa)? (if possible id like the new one to be wsxga+ 1680x1050 matte since i kinda always wanted that instead of the 1920x1200)

where is the stuck pixel located?

if its in the center quadrant, then the OEM would usually replace it for you at no cost.... at least that is Sager's policy.

Its in the middle of the bottom right quadrant of the monitor (imagine splitting the lcd in 4 parts and the red pixel is in the centre of the bottom right one).
I contacted my vendor and the warranty doesnt cover it..
i also complained that its hard to close my BD-rom and that the power adapter is making weird loud noises when the cpu is under significant load.
The answer to those two is: if its still so hard to close the BD-rom (i have to push it in real firm at the right side, left side wont work to close it or it jumps right out again) after 4 weeks ill get a new one and i can even install it myself (so i dont have to ship the whole system back), and about the power adapter they say its normal for it to be noisy and hot since its a 220w adapter..
And i also got another reply just now that for 110€ + shipping the can fix my stuck pixel or replace my lcd + a 6 Months no pixel failure warranty.
Im now seriously considering to send it back after i get home from my vacation (after 40 days) and also have the BD-rom replaced at the same time if it still gives me trouble.

And Mu, has anyone actually fixed a stuck pixel that way? I rubbed and poked as much as i felt safe, while running that flash image behing the pixel and nothing after a few mins..
Id be really happy if i could fix it myself since its a pain to send it back but im out of ideas.. never had a broken pixel before and i have 5 low-end laptops at home (hp, lenovo, ibm...) and 4 average lcds.

By that you mean just poking at the pixel with a relatively blunt object through a soft cloth?

Damn you're picky :). I've had a few dead pixels myself on some of my Dell laptops, but it didn't bother me. I used an external monitor with all of them anyways, so that kept me from ever seeing them. :D

I too have a stuck pixel sort of in the center of the bottom right area, but it's green :(

Right now I'm running JScreenFix, already 5 minutes in.

If mine has a bad pixel or pixels, that's just motivation to downsize to 1680x1050.

Many D901C panels are on ebay (WUXGA+, WSXGA+, WXGA+) including glossy and non glossy.

Same thing happened to me when I bought MY MSI GT627-216US and had dead pixel on the middle of the screen, I tried all the methods above but to avail then I just replaced my screen for 15.4" 1920X1200 of ebay.
I just could not stand having my new laptop with a bad pixel.

Just looked at the prices on eBay for screens. I'd figure they'd cost an arm :p Not bad in pricing, but still it's a cost for a fix.

Knowing the average price, I think I can hold out for a while to replace my screen. Would there be a possibility the stuck pixel would fix itself?

Edit: oops, the ones I looked at were only 1440x900 :\

All the screens on ebay have an ISO 13406-2 policy, which means they wont replace it until theres at least 3 dead or stuck pixels.. not going for that again.. my vendor offered me a cheaper deal than ebay anyway - and with 6 months ISO 13406-1 grade warranty (0 dead or stuck pixel tolerance) :)
Im stuck with this screen for a good month so ill see after this time if it still bothers me, than ill send it in.
Im reseating the BD-drive today to try and make it slide in easyer.

BD-rom was pushed in too far and now i screwed it right so it closes nicely :D

And ive got an update on my red pixel.. i tried rubbing near it instead of on it and it disspears for a while but comes back.. any ideas?

And sorry its taking so long with the benchies and review guys but ive been working non stop the past two days.. i only had about an hour after installing everything and ive spent it trying to fix the BD-rom and the pixel.
