Its the alienware area 51 7700 model
What happened is that....
i took out the 2 HDD that's in it,
plugged it as a portable HDD to another computer,
have the 2HDD reformatted through that computer
and place it back into the alienware
now here's the problem
when i turn it on, screen just stays blank~
and that's it!
it wont even boot up anymore![]()
i can hear the machine but the screen shows nothing![]()
any way to fix this?
-
stop making so many threads... (keep it on a few)
if it does not boot up, make sure that theres no CD/DVD's in the drive(s) [this has occurred before in these notebooks] -
sorry~
umm tes there are no cd/dvd in the drive
still wont boot up
screen stays blank -
remove one of the drives and try again
since you really only need 1 drive to install Windows anyways.
then connect the second after a successful XP install -
Tried it, doesnt seem to work
did i do it corerctly?
just like in the picture?
btw, what do i do with that green pin?
(circled in red) -
umm... you should not need to use any jumpers for these notebooks, just remove it.
These HDDs should be on cable select by default (without any jumpers). -
ok,
ummm so yeah
is there any other way to boot it up
ive tried everything
still cant work
the screen isnt showing
i tried putting in the battery, removing the battery
still the same
any experience in this problem gophn?
sorry if i rely on you too much, you're like the com-expert that i seek advice from since last year before i bought my sager -
I am pretty sure its something simple, and you didnt do everything
Does it boot up without HDDs?
If yes... then the HDD cable might be loose or damaged.
If no... then it could be something else hardware related. -
tried it without the HDD
doesnt seem to boot up as well
i wonder what's wrong though -
it could be that the monitor cable is pinched/disconnected...maybe the screen went bad?
you did take out the hard drives with the computer off right..(not sure if that would cause this issue, but you never know) -
hmm... make sure that its not the LCD... plug the notebook onto an external display.
Then...
Remember to unplug the unit and remove the battery.
1) I would recommend to reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery... it should be under the keyboard area.
2) I would recommend to re-seat the following:
- RAM
- Wi-Fi Card & TV Tuner (remove these if you want)
- CPU
- GPU
- Optical Drive(s) -
hmmm
but i dont have external display
all i have is another laptop (sager n9750v) -
alright
i took the keyboard off and i saw these
which is which again? -
ey weird
now it works~
ok back to the problem
can we continue this thread here?
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=156379
dont wanna make new thread -
alright this is terrible
now it refuses to boot up again -_-
what's wrong with it?
i really dont know at all! -
Something is probably loose or needs to be re-seated.

oh ive already removed the battery
umm gophn
is there a guide that states which part is which?
because as previously seen in the picture,
i removed it and there are ALL THESE PARTS and i have no idea which is which~
anyways, now it works again
after i do a light bang on the keyboard -_- -
ok... maybe the keyboard is loose too.... check the cable for it.
-
hmmm
dont think its the keyboard though
i probably tighten something beneath the keyboard -
could be... I had fixed a similar issue before on that exact notebook by reseating the Wi-Fi card and making sure that the wires are not sticking out when you cover it up with the keyboard.
-
so weird~
how come its the wifi
btw,
the driver cd that they gave me doesnt seem to include the wifi there
where do i download the driver for it? -
i didnt mean the wifi card specifically is the problems... i mean the place that its in.
that place sometimes can cause issues if the cards are not properly seated.
