^^^ yeah, I was guessing that... and they did not choose a quad-core... which would push the scores even higher.

Interesting though that they say it consumes 234w under load.

their pictures make the laptop look even bigger than they actually are.

    ecspecially the m15x pictures o_o

theryre where heaps of typos and the config that anandtech got wasnt really showing the true power of the 9262

    they were pretty close.

the heat is not a problem in the system at all.... however, when the system is at max load (during gaming and such), there is a lot of hot air that gets exhausted to the back of the system through the vents.

which is not a problem... because why would you be behind the notebook while gaming? :)

nothing is wrong with a E6850... its a great dual core.

but we said wanted to see a quad-core because it would boost the 3DMark score up about 1000-2000 depending on which quad-core used.

I read that review yesterday and, overall, thought it was pretty good .

I've tested Crysis, Oblivion, Assassin' Creed, UT, and Mass Effect, and, at the highest resolution anyway, the FPS numbers shown are more or less what I get. Some of the low resolution scores differ widely though. Although the tester attributed the "flattening" of the 9262's scores at lower resolutions to CPU overload, it's clear in some cases (Oblivion/Race Driver, for example) that he simply didn't turn vSync off.

I hate to see reviews of gaming rigs that post total 3DMark06 as an implied gaming capability, rather than the graphics scores as Tom's Hardware does. It's also a shame that the low default resolution of 3DMark06 is so commonly used. (I'm too cheap to pay for 3DMark06 in order to test at higher resolutions, but surely these guys can afford it.)

Which makes it a perfect system for staying home on cold winter nights and gaming - turn on the 9262, and turn off the furnace! With oil prices still so high, folks might find their parents encouraging them to stay glued to their computers with a game going rather than the reverse. :D
