    Hi all i have a D901C with 9800mGT SLI and q9550.
I found weird that my 3d mark06 was so poor (13500 average under VISTA) As i see many others with same comp getting 14k +. (by the way i have no problems under xp where i get 15k).

So i told myself lets try the VISTA bench from futuremark to have a real idee.
Im running 180.43 drivers from DoX.

    My vantage score :

    P8212 - Cpu 11625 - Graphics 7480.

I saw that a guy with 2 GTX got almost P11k or so...i should get at least 10k then. Is there any problems this score seems very poor.
Id really like to undertsand why VISTA is so slow.

I mean the first time i ran the notebook i got a 14.4K under vista 64 and never got this score again under 3dmark06 always under 14k now weird no ?

Nothing looks weird i tried stopping a few more things in the task manager but didnt help...so weird VISTA 64 gives me such bad performance (way of speaking :p)

I always like to get the best out of my computer ! and a 3000 Dollars machine should gives me what it is made for :) Hope i can find a way to fix this.

Just got a 10k with SLI disabled under VISTA64 which seems normal or well i rly dont know :)

Maybe that could help but im sure something is wrong with software and not hardware...Something is eating 1k point uder 3d mark06 and same under vantage that would mean a 10 fps average loss in games...I already did a clean install of VISTA very weird. I repeat that i have no perfomance issue under xp...

Your 10k 3dMark score sounds normal. I get 9700 with my np9262 with one 9800 GT card.

try changing the theme to classic? it does help in lessening the load all the aero from vista puts on your com..

and i don't think 10k is normal becuase he's running TWO 9800GT cards in SLi, yeah? should be slighly more @ about 13k?

    I said 10k with SLI disabled :) Under XP i get 15k and 13.5K under VISTA64.

Ive tried some in game test with Dead space though and under VISTA 64 with latest drivers it seems i get something like 15 to 20 more fps....weird futuremark stuff lol.

Try downloading and installing the 180.43 drivers from laptopvideo2go for higher vantage scores then enabling physX in the nvidia control panel. My dual 9800m GTXs and Q9650 went from P9581 with a 12235 CPU score to P11633 with a 31334 CPU score. GPU score also went up about 450, but my overall 3dmark06 score went down a couple hundred points. Also game benchmarks went up a lot with the new drivers (27% in World in Conflict).

As for 3dmark06. I've heard people getting high 14000s with 9800m GTs with extreme overclocks and a Q9650. 13.5k is fairly standard in Vista and with stock settings from what I understand. If you want higher scores, try overclocking your cards a little. Also, keep in mind 3dmark06 is very CPU limited so the extra clocks in the Q9650 help greatly with your GPU scores along with CPU scores.
