    Hello,

sorry for my bad English, but i have a question.

I would like to overclock my Q9400 with the tool SetFSB 2.2.134.98

I must find out the ClockGen.

You can't overclock the CPU on a D901C. It is impossible.

    Hello,

    THANKS:

But the Q9400 works with 1333MHz.

Maby i need a mod from 1333 MHz to 1600MHz.

    Do you know anything?

The mod will raise the FSB from 1333 to 1600, but it will not work in D901C. The MB supports only up to 1333 FSB. The only way to get higher speed would be to change the processsor with a q9650.

Do you know if it works on the mobo v5 (Sager 9261)? My max FSB is 1066 (it downcloks any cpu with 1333 FSB to 1066FSB).

According to Sager Techsupport, your Motherboard needs to be version 5.2 or higher in order to support a Q9650.

You probably will not be able to run Quads like Q9400...

Already used a Q9300 for about 2 weeks and it works like a charm :D . The only problem is the speed goes to 2000Mhz instead of 2500Mhz because of the FSB1066. All MB version 5.x (mine is 5.0A) or up support quadcore (sager 9261). So I don't think the mod chip would work in my mobo, but have any one tried? (the 9800M GT also shouldn't work in my mobo but it does! :p )

The same problem you have with the FSB if you use q9400 or q9650, they both have 1333. Maybe someone else can pop up and tell if the v5 Mb supports the 1333 quads. If you bought from a store they can tell you. Even if you system will boot it might have effects on longer time, like burn the MB after a while.

Lol. If it goes to 2000 MHz check it might be that on idle it clocks lower (the multiplier is decreasead) speed in order to save energy. You can check the FSB with cpuz or put it to run some intensive tests like wprime and check the speed during the tests.

Pasoleatis I will try to explain to you so that you can understand...

    The Clevo D90xC series had 3 mobos (v.4, v.5, v.6)
    v4 didn't support Quad core (Sager 9260).
v5 support Quad core (but FSB1066) (Sager 9261).
v6 support Quad Core (But FSB 1333) (Sager 9262).

Because of my mobo being a v5 my FSB only works at 1066Mhz, it means that a Q9300 that should work at 2.5Ghz (FSB at 1333) can't! Because of the FSB1066 it can only get 2000Mhz (make the math). This is 95W CPU so it can't burn the MB...(Q6600 is 95-105W).

MY question is if I made the mod chip to the Q6600 (this cpu is FSB1066) will it be possible that my MB can use the FSB1333? Any one tried?

    Sorry.

All the 45 nm quads go to multiplier 6 when idle which corresponds to 2GHz. I saw several posts in which people forgot this aspect, I thought it happened the same to you.

When you do the pin mode the proc will effectively be at FSB 1333, but because the motherboard does not support FSB 1333 so it will still run at 1066. So no gain.

If you do the pin mode here is a post with a long discussion about it on a D901C.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=237829

Burning the MB or the proc can be cause not only by too much heat, but also because of the Mb not being able to handle the new voltages.

If you read the message in the link I posted one guy with 9261claims that by updating the BIOS his MB supported the FSB 1333 pages 6-7. If it is true then maybe the 45 nm will work as well properly.
