So Intel has unwrapped their latest 5960X CPU.
Does anyone have an ETA on when this CPU will be featured in a Clevo DTR?
Currently what's on offer is 4960X.

We don't know yet, however the P570WMx models are being discontinued, so we may see a new chassis and x99 motherboard DTR soon. But so far no word. Would be nice if they waited till maxwell's announcement to reveal the stuff but we'll need to wait a few days for this.

What's maxwell? Haven't heard of that before.
Any thoughts on integrated 3D Vision availability for the new models?
I understand it was available with GTX 780M for the previous series, but not GTX 880M. -
Yes, the 780M models had a 3D vision model. The 880M models did not have a 3D vision version that I know of, but putting 880Ms in say... a P370SM3 like I have would still allow you to use 3D vision. Maxwell is nVidia's new GPU architecture set to be announced/released soon. Kepler is the current architecture.
I don't know if they'll be bringing back another 3D laptop, but I hope they do. Stereoscopic 3D is one of the underrated gems of the gaming industry, especially with a very good game for it. -
I wouldn't hold my breath for 5960X. It's only about 10-15% in most benchmarks against a hex-core 4960X, and trails behind in some others. Also DDR4 only means you'd have to wait for DDR4 so-dimms, which is going to cost big.

I'd probably turn off the hyperthreading cores on the new CPU. That way it'd be a true 8 core CPU, and 8 cores are sufficient for my requirements (whereas 6 cores weren't). I really don't need the extra hyperthreading cores, but it will be good to have the option in place.
I'd hope the new system comes with Maxwell then - is that going to be branded 980M GTX? And of course, 120Hz panels with 3D display. I do like the 3D myself very much, even though one stops noticing it when playing over the long term.
DDR4 would be nice, from what I understand the previous Clevo flagship had trouble with 1866MHz RAM. I hope they can now support the full DDR4 bandwidth.
Additionally I was disappointed that the X79 chipset had only 2 SATA3 ports. Now that this limitation is removed as well, I'd like to build a system with 4 SATA3 ports, each sporting a terabyte SSD, for a quad RAID 0 solution. That should be powerful.
Given Clevo's track record, I do wonder if they're going to be able to pull all of this off this time round. The RAM, 3D, Maxwell, and new CPU which runs even hotter due to the added 10W power requirement over the previous generation... -

I run at 2133mhz cl10 on my 570wm.
