    Hello,

I am buying a Lotus P150HM (Rebranded Clevo P150HM / Sager NP8150) from Malibal and am wondering if it is worth it to upgrade the internal WiFi card (Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card ) to the IntelĀ® 6230 Advanced-N 802.11A/B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card for $25?

What are the differences between the cards?

The stock card has a max speed of 150Mbps while the 6230 can do up to 300Mbps due to the 2x2 antenna arrangement. Both come with bluetooth so that's a wash. If you've got a router at home that supports the 300Mbps N standard, you'll notice better speeds at farther ranges than the stock card.

If you don't have a router that can support it, then you won't see much of a benefit except possibly stronger signal at equivalent distance. (but no speed boost)

The 6230 uses 2 antennae. That means greater signal strength.

Edit: ninja'ed by Malibal again. :)

Thanks for the info on the cards. I'll do the upgrade then.
