    Hi there all

I have inherited a Cleve notebook (badged Iridium Starbook 520) and I want to upgrade it a little.

It has 1Gb memory and I would like to double that if I can and I would like to increase the resolution of the display (currently 1024 x 768).

I would also like to do something about the damn awful noise the fans make.

    Can anyone out there help?

    Regards

    Martin

Hi Pantyboy. I have been unable to locate a BIOS update for the Clevo MD22ES even on their website so I'd say its safe to assume that there most likely is not a BIOS update for this model. As for the fans if its anything resembling a grinding sound (any sound other that air movement) I'd suggest getting those fans replaced. Hope this helps.

    Hi maaron82773

    Many thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I checked out the Clevo site and there are bios updates there but I'm not sure which one would do.

The noise the fan makes is fine when it's just doing what it does but every so often it's as though it gets a little to hot and then the fan seems to go into hyperdrive and the noise becomes extremely loud. There's not grinding or anything of that sort just very loud.

I've sent an email to Clevo and when I get a reply I'll let you know.

    Regards

    Martin
