Welcome to the new... but not really new, just updated...

    Clevo M570ETU

Specifications are still the same as the previous M570TU.

:D It now just has full mobile quad-core CPU support. :D

Vendors that already have it up:
    - http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_customed.php?pid=129131
    - http://web.eurocom.com/EC/ec_model_config1(1,198,0)

    UPDATE: (for Europe)

There are more vendors that will probably update their sites to reflect the updated system.

I just listed the above three vendors because they are the main importer OEMs of North America... and every other vendor will have to get it through them.

    Game on people,
    -Gophn

expect the non-quad M570TU to have some deals as well... for how ever much stock is left from whichever vendors. :)

So are we talking about merely a BIOS update or are there more differences?

Is it possible to purchase just the motherboard from any vendor and replace the old motherboard myself? I don't want to purchase a new laptop just to get Quad-Core support.

AFAIK you only need to update your BIOS for quad core support.

Mobile QCs need a revised motherboard, alongwith a BIOS update which provides support for the Penryn QCs.

I'm pretty sure you need a revised motherboard for Quad core...

Better than paying $2000 for a new laptop :D

Wow it's a bit extreme to revise the motherboard just to support the quad core cpu's. IMHO I should ask for a refund because I bought mine at the time Intel realesed the quad core CPU's and I wanted a quad core CPU first.

Anyway so far I am not happy with my M570TU, I was happy with my M570A but there are so many issues with the M570TU.

A lot of M570TU buyers near me likes their systems... no issues from what I heard.

But they didnt they to OC their CPU's like crazy though. ;)

If you contact XXODD and tell them about your issues and you want to RMA it or exchange it, you might just get the newer revision. :)

Hello i am new to the forums, but i actually have what i believe is a M570TU with a QX9300, i bought it on September and got it on October, it came with BIOS 1.00.08, if you want you can tell me where is the revision on the mother board and i can tell you which one is mine.

If it is running a quad core, it is the ETU version (not written anywhere, like the M570RUU is still labeled M570RU) The quad cores simply won't run in a TU version, it's physically impossible.

It is unlikely that you have the ETU, as that model came out with BIOS 1.00.09. The only sure way of knowing is to check your motherboard revision (on the ram slot) but I'm not sure which revision is quad capable anyway, anyone care to tell?

I cleaned my notebook fans and heatsinks and re-applied thermal paste, my motherboard rev is 3.1 on sticker between ram slots (no B like in posts above).
do you think this would take quad core ?
