Hello there guys and ladies too. Please do forgive me about my English, it is not my native language.
I have read some posts about the unknown device that appears in Clevo branded notebooks and i did not manage to find a solution. I still have that unknown device no matter what. I have download for both XP and Vista OS the drivers from Clevo site and did a fresh install for both XP and Vista but in both OS i still get the same unknown device and i have everything working.
    The unknow device is:
    Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2815
    ACPI\ITE8709\4&2FFE84EA&0

I have attached also 2 images that you can see these all i have written here.
Thank you in advance for your help :)

looks like it's the SATA controller
maybe you can let Windows find the driver for you?
or try downloading and installing the drivers again :)

I'm pretty sure that device is the the consumer infrared receiver (CIR). If you install the drivers for the CIR device from either the supplied drivers disk from from the Clevo website, that unknown device will go away and several "real" devices will take it's place.

After I'd loaded the driver, I took the remote control and wireless keyboard from my Windows XP Media Center PC, pointed them at the front of the laptop and they worked fine. Kind of spooky in a way :)

We'll see when he tries it, but on my M570RU that was the driver that made the difference. Note that the ICH8M information in the message is referring to the interface the unknown device is connected to, and not the unknown device itself.

As I recall when I ran into this myself, the ITE8709 part of the message is the manufacturer and part number of an IR interface chip.

    Hello there guys!
Thank you all for your help. It was the CIR device, But the problem is that installing it using the Clevo drivers from their website did not solve the problem. You had to go to the installed directory in program files and run the DPInst file to install the driver correctly so the system can recognize the unknown device.
Hope that info will also help other people trying to manage that minor issue :)
Thank you again all for your kind help!
