Looking for any suggestions for a Clevo M570RU-U HDD. It needs to at least have 100gb. Mostly looking for the best bang for my buck that wont crap out a month after I get it.

how much are you willing to spend for an HDD.
for $100, you can get a 160GB 7200rpm or 250gb 5400rpm -
-
if you look at best buy, they are having a deal on Western Digital Passport external drives... which have 2.5" SATA-II 250gb drives in them for around $99-110.
Just take the HDD out of the enclosure and you are set. -

these are all over 100$ -
The next best deal is this:
320GB WD Passport USB - $149 (free shipping)

You can ask them to remove the HDD & RAM and buy it yourself (XoticPC does it). They maybe can even remove the CPU.
-
ya, only the GPU is needed...
-
They can remove stuff and send you a barebone (full system without a CPU, HDD & RAM).
-
-
thats an ok deal.
But the 320GB is $15 dollars more.
The link that I gave is has the best deal for it. -
I'm just saying, no need to get so agitated. It's not my fault you didn't sold your CPU.
Maybe you should of said where you want to buy it from in the first place, so I wouldn't have bothered trying to help.
By the way, who's selling the unbranded Clevo anyway?
The 320GB is as fast as a 200GB Hitachi. -
-
OK, I understand that. Either way, I'm sorry for the confusion. But I have to say that the 320GB is so worth it. The performance is on par with the fastest out there...it would be a shame not to get it.
Anyway, please answer my question if you can. -
-
So wouldn't that make it a Sager? I though RJ Tech resells Sager barebones (and still think so).
-
"The Sager np5792/3 is not available in a barebone, however, you can purchase the laptop excluding the memory and hard drive " R and J tech calls it a Clevo M570RU-U >.>, but I know its the same laptop and it seems you do as well.
Guess this threads off track anyways so might as well take it a step forward...only reason I wanted a barebone was so that I could use my t9300 cpu. Buying a laptop with one built in already and then upgrading didn't make sense to me. So the plan was see if I could sell the processor without any loss and wait till the funds from my P-6831fx sale transfered from pay pal to my bank account. If the processor didn't sell by then I was just gonna buy a barebone laptop. >.> funds came in today so I ended the sell and bought a barebone laptop.
Oh and by the way I just realized I selected the orange trim model instead of the silver...so while typing this I just modified my order and now its the silver model. -
Yes, I definitely know that it's the same laptop. However I think that RJ Tech gets the barebones from Sager (since they are resellers they can get whatever they want, right?). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
"P.S. RJtech gets their Clevo barebones through Sager." -> Gophn
I still don't understand why Sager can't offer a 3 year warranty at a decent price and yet RJ Tech can (same goes for Eurocom). -
no clue, but I'm not trying to say xoticpc is a bad reseller, but I haven't even ordered a laptop and there service isn't any better than anyone else. Back when snowsurfer and I where both trying to get a t9300 he had shipping problems with xoticpc. When I placed my order I didn't even get a invoice >.>. When I canceled my order 4 days later because they hadn't even shipped it yet I received no answer at all. This has me extremely worried because when I had called to check on the order status he said it would just ship some time later that week. >.> So you can imagine my order is supposed to ship any day and they wont confirm my order is canceled, so I did the smart thing, called my bank and said I lost my debit card...poof instant security since they can no longer charge my card. The fact that I felt compelled to go that far certainly didn't sit well with me though.

Everyone has the right to do whatever they want with the money they have. I don't judge anyone and I think that even if people do become subjective, they have the right to do so up until a point and should justify the decision, so that others can benefit.
Anyway, Sager should be able to send you one, because they do so with RJ Tech. This kind of proves that Sager ain't good at the selling part (or reselling). -
yah guess thats kind of my point resellers seem to be a dime a dozen for sager notebooks. Kind of glad I kept looking at this post wasn't till I took a second look a the R and J website that I realized I ordered the orange model. -
Want silver? Finally Sager has come to their senses and started offering the silver trim. People wanted it and they've lost some money. When you get it (if it's the silver) make sure you take some pictures. Thanks in advance.

I'm also curious about an HDtune test for that HDD. I plan to get a bigger hdd some time in the future and it would probably be like yours, Bwhxeon ... or the 320 gb if somebody else throws a bone
-
The 320GB is cheaper (570 for us, eleron911) compared to the 200GB one and it performs the same. It's a good choice for people needing the space. I just hope it will be offered soon in the Sagers.
-
), so I hope someone who knows better will correct me, but it looks like RJTech gets it's stuff direct from Clevo (or else gets Clevos from Sager as barebone Clevos, not as Sagers). My basis for this is: (i) the resellers I looked at who carry Sagers, or make their own private-label brands using Sagers, say so and reference the Sager model numbering system; RJTech refers to the systems it sells as Clevos and uses the Clevo numbering system, and (ii) on Gophn's ...
"Notebook Models (Clevo): (refer to Sager)"
...
[/QUOTE]
So, on that (possibly flimsy) basis, I would conclude that it's more likely than not that RJTech sells Clevos, not Sagers. -
well so much for this being a good deal...189$ today.

Shyster1, Gophn knows the difference and I think he said that the only North American Clevo (let's call them) resellers are Sager, Eurocom and Pro Star. Nothing about RJ Tech.
bwhxeon, why not get the 320GB WD? It's about the same price. -
RJtech gets their barebones from Sager and Pro-Star.
