The RU also has the benefit of supporting up to 8 Gigs of ram so it will probably last longer as games and apps begin to use more ram in the years to come.
-
The RU will definitely phase out and the current prices of the RU will probably be the TU`s prices in 2-3 months, but at release, the TU will probably be 2-300$ more expensive.
-
-
Well,it doesn`t bring anything really new,so the price can`t be high, otherwise they`d hit the D901C prices
And people wouldn`t buy the TU anymore -
It would make sense to me to drop the RU prices somewhat and put the TU prices somewhat above where the RU was.
-
@smood, more like RU will be discontinued, the only place you will see it is 2nd hand market lol
edit: ROFL did i just type "discounted"? -
Of course they`ll discontinue it..
It happened with the 5790,91,92, so probably we`ll see the 5794 pretty soon in the Montevina factor phasing out the 5793 -
-
Yes, the FX is good.
But the RU offers just so much more...not to mention upgradeability..
Please, don`t start an upgradeable/not upgradeable debate here, it`s ancient news... -
Rich.Carpenter the GW built quality feel like crap, I wouldn't buy it even it has SLI 9800 GX2 plus quad core in it.
-
Did you ever feel or handle it?
-
tried it at best buy for 15 minutes back to Feb
-
-
15 mins is all I need bwhxeon.
-
Ya you don't need that much time to get a good feel for external build quality. I mean as soon as you touch it, type on it, move it around you get to see what its like immediately.
-
3 words:
"Bend the chassis."
Thats all you need to know about build quality. ": -
LOL!!!!!!
To be fair.. the NP5793 is not looking so hot with many people complaining that the headphone jack isn't even working. -
want something hot looking? get the m15x, as long as you don't touch it.
-
The m57ru ONLY problem is the audio jack imo. -
Thats a fairly bad problem to have too since headphones/speakers are often used with notebooks.
-
I actually use my PCMCIA Audigy 2 ZS headphone jack usually when I am gaming and my notebook with all accessories is set up.
I use my notebook's jack when I am too lazy to pull out my PCMCIA card.
I think a competent soldering person can swap jacks... if its as simple an in a mp3 player, which I have done before.
Or you can use software to switch the function of audio-out to another jack...
HOLY CRAP... (i didnt think of it til now) that is a good solution that can be done and wont require people to send in systems.
Realtek software can already make certain ports have different functions, there might be no issues by having the audio-out go through another jack.
Ok people, lets get a petition for a software fix.
... or some that has some programming skills can make one. -
Ya Gophn I was wondering about something like that because according to the specs for the 5793: "4 Multi Functional Audio Ports"
-
You can remap the audio outs in the realtek software quite easily but according to several people on this forum the volume/quality isn't as good
-
It`s not.
But I guess Gophn might be on to something.
It should be a matter of software bypassing the bad jack.
Not the realtek type, but a clevo/sager sollution. -
So basically the m570TU is like the m860TU except that it is 17" right??
LOL i thought the m570RU IS the m570TU... what a small change for only one letter -
No dude, let me clear that out for ya.
The M860TU is similar to the M570 RU and M570 TU,the last two sharing the same technology and 17 inch screen factor.
The 860TU looks similar to them from the pictures, even the speakers are placed on the side in the same way,and the overall looks matches that of a M570RU downsized to 15inch form factor -
-
Well, you still have 1 other jack you can use... (not that thats any consolation for the fact that 2 have died)
-
The other one, wou cant even hear it.........
-
-
So... will the TU version be less noisy than the RU?
-
Not likely, it`s the same laptop, with a bit modified chassis.
BUT BUT, the 5793 is not as noisy as my 5791, which with forced med speed is decent -
about twice as fast.... maybe a bit more as its quad core
-
Does anyone happen have a dmesg to this laptop yet?
-
no, no one has the laptop yet, as far as I know.
On another note, I'm kinda surprised how there is alot less hype about this then the 15in little brother. I guess its because this isn't drastically new like the 15incher. -
I know a place that claims they have two. It's available, I guess very scarcely.
-
Is this the 570TU ? It is called 570+

Looks right, has correct hardware options. I'd say probably it is. This is a whitebook laptop that reseller companies are going to no doubt coin as they wish.
-
Do anyone know where i could get an Mini PCI TV tuner for my Clevo, because it is just impossible to find something like that in the web ?
-
The card that comes as a "factory option" is the yuan mc770a, but I don't know if that's available for purchase afterwards
