    Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forum and I just want to say thanks to anyone who can help me!! First of all, the video card on my KillerNotebooks Executioner (M570U), which is a nVidia Geforce Go 7900 GTX, has died on me. I have searched for info all over the web on my problem, and from what I gather, the card in my laptop can only be replaced with a Clevo module, not a MXM one. Are there other Clevo notebooks that have these specific modules that will work? What about Sager or Alienware? It seems to me that the M570U and the Sager 5760 are the same? I think I read somewhere that the cards from a Clevo 900T might work which I think is the same as an Alienware M7700? These cards are way expensive from resellers and practically non existent anyway. If anyone has any ideas on where to purchase one of these or something similar (7800 GTX) just to get my laptop up and working again I would greatly appreciate it. I am keeping my eye on EBay, but you never know what your gonna get there. I paid a lot of cash for this laptop back in 2007 and it works perfectly except for the video. I have already tried heating up the card myself with no luck. Please help me in my quest to save my laptop. Thanks!!!

    Hello Again,
I have done some more research and I am quite confident that a card from a Clevo D900T aka Alienware M7700 will work for me. Here is a link to one on EBay. NVidia GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB Alienware m7700 D9T D9K - eBay (item 160554496356 end time Apr-02-11 21:55:50 PDT)

If someone could please confirm for sure that this or a similar card will work in my M570U, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if I get a card from another vendor like Alienware, can I update the vbios with the one from my Clevo M570U? I can still get my computer to boot into safe mode so I think that I can salvage the original vbios. One last question, maybe a stupid one? Will the original vbios from my computer work with say a nVidia GeForce Go 7800GTX or is it only good for a 7900 GTX (my original card)? I'm still a little unclear on the vbios stuff. Thanks for any help!!!!

    Hello,
Just checked back here for the first time since I posted. Didn't seem to get any help. I am assuming that since nobody posted otherwise that a card from a D900T will work. Rarden30mm, I see you have a card. Is there some way to contact you so I can make an offer? Please let me know and maybe we can make a deal. Thank You!!

You need 5 posts to be able to PM him, so either make a couple more useful posts elsewhere, or wait for a reply here.

    Thanks Theriko,
I have read a lot of your posts and you seem very knowledgeable. I assume I am correct about the D900T card working in my laptop then and I appreciate your response about the PM. Hopefully I can get her up and running again. Thanks Again!!

It should work, but you might need to flash a M570U vBIOS to it to get full compatibility

    A D900 CARD WILL NOT WORK !!!

I was once accidently being send a d900 7900GTX when i ordered one for my M570U.
Still, i took it out of its enclosure and fitted it into the cooler of my m570u.

The system will boot but just show you a screen splitted into 4 parts >>> makes it useless

BTW the whole board layout looked different from the real deal.

    Only the M57A, M570A, M575A, M57U, M570U, M575U models share a compatible GPU.

    Hello Again,
Now I am confused because I thought that a card from a D900 would work? Could the problem that Prema had be fixed with the correct video bios from a M570U? My laptop will not post now (black screen with one long and 2 short beeps) so I can no longer save my vbios. Does anyone have a vbios for a Clevo M57U? Just for the heck of it, I decided to post some pics of my video card for reference. If anyone has any ideas at all, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks Again!!
