After doing some research and reading plenty of reviews, I've decided on a Clevo 571RU-U. I've got a couple questions.
I'm probably going to end up ordering through Eurocom since I'm in Canada, and I just wanted to make sure I've got the proper equivalent because they change their model names slightly. On Eurocom, I believe it's the M57RU Divine-X (which becomes M571RU Divine-X when you choose the silver trim.) Also, does the Eurocom silver trim look the same as the Sager? Because when you choose the orange trim, it looks like they've replaced the top of the lid with a ridged plastic:
Sager: http://www.sagernotebook.com/php_proj/sagernotebook/images/Image/creation3.jpg

Apparently Eurocom will do price matching, but will they match prices of American sites?
And finally, I read the review of the Sager NP5791, and it said that the fans can get pretty annoying starting up loudly every minute or so. Is this still the case with the 5792 or have they solved that problem with this model? I'll probably get it anyway, but quiet fans would be a very nice plus.
Thanks a million for any advice.

Model : yea , models are the same . Orange trim actualy looks like 10x better in real life than on the pictures . Only Eurocom has silver trim as far as i know .
Price matching : you should call them and ask your reseller about that .
Fans : runs pretty good so far , steady ( slow / average / fast ) , no random increases in rpm .
Overall a very nice computer . -
The orange trim has a metallic quality and looks nicer in person.
On thing I like about the lid of the Sager is that is nice a flat and makes for a nice surface for an add on skin.
I haven’t noticed any fan up/down noise as you describe. -
Since I'm in Ottawa(where Eurocom is located), I've been looking at the M57RU Divine-X as well.
What a salesperson told me about price matching is that the way they compete with US prices is to let you pay in US dollars. If you compare the CDN prices on their website and then switch the currency to USD you'll see that $1 USD = $1.15 CDN. So make sure you are charged in USD and get the best exchange rate you can. If can make the system hundreds of dollars cheaper than paying CDN prices.
They did say that after pricing the system in USD if their prices are still out of whack with the US, they would "work with you"...
I was actually thinking of ordering from a place like http://www.xoticpc.com/ but you've got to be carefull with warranty work. Some resellers stipulate that their warranty is only valid in the US. -
I got my Divine-X on Tuesday . . . I can't get over how awesome of a notebook Clevo managed to put together. And yes, the orange stripe looks much better in person that I was expecting! Overall very satisifed with Clevo and Eurocom!

does the back of the lid look the same as the sager one?

you can ask for 10% student discount...
-
Even if you're not a student? I would expect them to ask for some sort of proof. Or do they have no way of verifying that?

Yeah I bought my m571ru through Eurocom because the silver appeared to me to look a little more professional but I would have been fine with the orange if silver wasn't offered. Anyway I think we should all post screenies and benches to compare our Divine-X's . I didn't even know they were named that on the site until I went back and checked.

I'm gonna order one today with the 1440x900 display.. anyone order one with that resolution too? I wanna make sure it doesn't have any grainy anti-glare filter like my gateway did.. my gateway had a "glossy" surface along with an anti-glare filter which made it appear grainy and ugly. Got rid of that thing.

Remember, Sager has a full satisfaction guarantee for 30days... even if it is the price that you are not satisfied with.
But only qualified discounts (such as student/teacher, military, etc..) are valid.
