Please excuse if this topic has already been posted somewhere on the forum but unable to locate it.

Am the proud owner of a 2nd hand Zepto Hydra 17" (says Clevo M571TU on the backcover), P8600, 4Gb ram, 9800M GTX

Have undervolted (stable- 2 hrs Orthos stress test) via RMClock and cut the CPU temp by -6*C of the monitoring progs temps (RMClock reduced from 46*Cto 40*C, NST reduced from 53*C to 47*C).
Which opens the question of which prog monitors the temp correctly?

    Other data for my unit:
Bios: 1.00.09ZC-Test (thats what is says. Wondering what the TEST means?)
    KBC/EC: 1.00.03
    9800 VBios: 62.92.49.00.A1
In the Bios Fan Control have 2 options: Continuous or Automatic (presently on Auto)

Have the impression my fans are always on. When the CPU temp hits 36-37*C (NST monitoring) my fans increase to medium speed.

Is there any way to reduce/control the fans for said PC??

Max speed can be toggled with Fn + 1. Silent mode can be toggled with the "A" button left of the the power button.

You should download the user manual for this notebook. It should help you with the questions you have. You can download a copy from Sager.

Again sorry for bugging the forum!
As to downloading manuals, well its all fine if U r from the US , but when the vendor goes bankrupt in DK - one is sort of lost- what happened in Zepto case.

OK, I know I should not have posted this but SS last post left me somewhat annoyed...

Am I the moron or did SS have a bad day?? -first option is most likely... :)

Have great respect for SS (many tuts and whatnot in the forum) but feel hers/his last post in this thread is beneath she/him....

Being the moron/noob I have a great deal of latitude in asking questions compaired to the "experts" who reply and therefore expect some kickback but...

SS's first post is a link to "ASUS G51 Cooling mod"- how the heck should I know this also applies to my rig: Zepto Ultra (states Clevo M571TU on the backcover) ....
SS's 2nd post suggests Fn+1 for Max Speed & "A" button for silent mode- ok have the "A" button but not the Fn+1 option....again have a Zepto Ultra
SS's 3rd post links the Sager manual- all fine and good and fit most of the specs for Zepto Ultra but doesnot tell how to manually adjust the fan-speed....

Not trying to alieneate SS (although I'm doing a good job at it), just want to know if there is a software mod for the fancontrol or maybe a BIOS upgrade with same option?

When searching, you need to input all of the relevant parameters. Taking from your first post, I can find many threads and posts related to fan control on the M570TU, including the one I posted. Had you read Gophn's Clevo guide stickied at the top of the Clevo forum, you would have learned about the naming scheme Clevo uses and that the "1" is a moniker for aesthetic design and that your notebook is still an M570TU at heart. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...70tu+fan+control+automatic&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=

Your Zepto BIOS most likely doesn't support the Fn + 1 bind. Zepto is bye bye so it's best to flash over to an original Clevo BIOS now or later down the road.

Ultimately, fan speed is not manually adjustable on this notebook, or any notebook, at will. You can do a brute force approach by hand editing the DSDT tables, but that is for a different thread altogether as the process is extensive.

To put it bluntly to your first question, it's both. You are the biggest moron I have seen today from this thread alone. As to why I continued to help you is beyond my moral instincts. Perhaps it's the thought of seeing another Clevo user make a fool out of himself. But ultimately, your failure to read the information that I gave to you that directly answered your first question is what p*ssed me off. Silent mode reduces your fan speeds. Plain and simple. But I don't blame you entirely. Maybe it's just the way that you were raised. Seeing from your posts on other forums on the internet, I'd say that your posts here are consistent with your dependency on being spoon fed like a baby. Learn to be self-reliant, learn to read and comprehend.
