I would try to looks towards the large Clevo importers in North America:
    - Sager
    - Pro-Star / M-tech
    - Eurocom
    ... and AVAdirect.

I know Eurocom was having a couple of these new system (I know they have a couple 746TU) for around 1300$.

The deal breaker for me was that they had only a 1280x800 screen. I wanted the 1440x900 and no discrete graphics (for battery life).

thanks guys. I checked with the major clevo importers but the closest one would be the m746tu from eurocom, but that uses the nvidia 9300 so i am guessing not as good.

If the problem is that it's not an ATI card being offered, then I can see where you're disappointed in not finding what you want. If the problem is that the 9300 is a low end card, well... I don't think they put 9600+ cards in such small systems (nor would you want anyone to, imo) because of heat issues (so I have no idea how Crossfire's even offered in that, heatwise!).

Agreed. This is not meant for gaming, but is much more like a business class notebook. Honestly, if you are to have just a tad better than crappy as for framerates, it's still crappy. You're better off with a longer battery life.

If you want a good all in one, then the 15" gamer laptop is your thing.
