    Hey all,

    I've got someone who has a M860TU with a bad motherboard that wants to replace it with my M860ETU motherboard, is this part a direct swap or will there be other pieces necessary for it to be used? (ie, heatsink, etc.)

    This is exactly how my M860TU was upgraded to an M860ETU.

    There should be no issues.

    I can order one motherbord from Clevo directly for you :)
    But they sell FOB; so you have to manage the shipping yourself (for example if you have a DHL account)

    I don't know if this is still relevant but I phoned clevo Germany in Düsseldorf yesterday and they are selling the board for 180€ as well. Might be easier in terms of the shipping.

    I have an even newer version.

    Its a v3.1a-1 and it does support quads.

    I believe there are a few other ways to tell if you have quad support.
    One is if you bought the laptop with a gtx 260m its likely to be a newer motherboard revision.

    Another way you can tell, the sockets are totally different. The one that doesn't support quads is straight purple █████ while the one that does is magenta █████
    Also, my quad system has black RAM slots while my other one has white ones.

    Of course these could be particularities of the individual motherboards that have nothing to do with quad support.

    So please, everyone check out your motherboard... Lets see if we can confirm an easier way to tell if there is quad support...

    aliennation2010 on ebay. Not a good seller. Although he assured me it supported quad cores, he scratched up and bent the heatsink and did not send me a lot of screws and the GPU cage.

    Geez I hate his listing styles, basically put as much text and BS as possible.

    Oh, the laptop is a Sager brand though and was probably bought from them originally if that helps.
