Has anyone tried to connect their M860TU or NP8660 upto a 30" LCD?

I have already checked my DVI cable, and yes it's a Dual Link DVI cable.

I figured since the NP8660 has a 9800GT which supports Dual Link DVI, and also has a DVI out... That it should be capable of putting out a Dual Link DVI signal.

it should work for Dual-Link DVI... I believe the M860TU has that output.

    Moin,

I tried to connect it to 3 monitors (EIZO S1901) via a Matrox TripleHead2Go (Digital Ed.) The maximum resolution achieved was 2400x600 (3x800x600). According to the TripleHead´s software a dual link dvi connection is missing. But Clevo has confirmed it features dual link dvi. Using a DVI2VGA adapter to connect to the TripleHead´s VGA port works regarding the required resolution (3x1280x1024), but the display quality is far beyond standard. I can´t read anything and my eyes hurt. Even my old Toshiba notebook with it´s even older ATI X1600 card could run them @3840x1024. I´ve contaced all parties involved (Matrox, Nvidia, Clevo, notebook manufacturer). Until now nobody was able to help me. I guess it´s a driver related problem.

    ok...what driver are you using?

I suggest updating to either 177.92 or 178.13 from laptopvideo2go

    Moin,

I´ve tried different drivers so far. None of them worked out.

    • 177.89 - using a modded *.inf
    • 176.48 - latest WHQL certified Nvidia driver
    • 175.97 - driver provided by Clevo

Atm the last one is installed. Will give the both you named a go and report back.

Btw, did anybody successfully connect an M860TU to a monitor at a resoultion higher than 1920x1200?

    Regards,
    DD

Hmm, does the M860TU have dual outputs? Is this the same as a DVI and HDMI found on the M570TU? Could both be used at the same time??

My HDMI drives a 46" LCD at 1900x1200 no problem.

Yes, the M860TU has both, a HDMI and a DVI out. But I don´t think they can be used at the same time. As for your HDMI out driving a 46"LCD @ 1900x1200, seems to be a pretty low res for such a big screen. 1920x1200 is the maximum resolution for single link DVI connections. That´s why I was asking if anybody did successfully connect at higher resolutions than that.
BTW, drivers recommended by 'theriko' not tested yet.

    DD

    Moin,
both tested, but to no avail. The problem remains the same. The TripleHead and it´s cables are confirmed to be working properly. Tested them today on a desktop computer successfully. Do I have to assume it´s a hardware defect, or may this be driver related? I´m not keen on sending the notebook back to the seller for service.

    DD
