Well fortunately I have not run into issues with heat but I am being crippled by my usb ports.
First time I plug something in windows warns me of a voltage surge, I went through proper steps in windows to correct it and reset it.
From there I require a 7 port usb hub so i can switch things such as my keyboard, mouse ipod etc with my other notebook for the external monitor.
<s>Unfortunately with the clevo this rarely works. It just states the component(s) may not function properly.. and they dont function at all. It works fine on my other notebook and now I have it stripped down to just a generic keyboard + deathadder mouse plugged into the USB Hub.</s>
Ok I have just caught that this can be caused by plugging any notebook cooler in. Any ideas on the cause? Also the deathadder strictly will not work unless I plug a secondary mouse directly to the notebook at the time that the hub is functioning.
Everything on the hub works for 2 seconds after plugin
<s>Does anybody have any insight into this?</s>
Cheers

what notebook coolers?... the Zalman's?
I do not have that issue with my NC2000.
have you checked the USB Root Hubs in Device Manager?
chipset drivers update might also be needed.
recently I have been having my NC2000 plugged into an USB-AC adapter... to offset my notebooks power consumption. -
Zalman NC2000, Vizo Ninja HS, Vizo Ninja Mini II, Cooler Master X2, Vizo Xena and a couple others. One by one tested.
What should I be checking in Device Manager in regards to the USB Root Hubs?
Edit: Under device manager I noticed keyboard was not properly recognized plugged it back in it fixed that but what really matters is that I foun a secod Generic USB hub with 4 ports as well as my current hub??? It appears to be reading my hub as two hubs -
there are multiple USB Root Hubs in notebooks... for external ports, as well as for internal components (like WebCam, fingerprinter reader, etc.)
are there any exclamation points (!) or questions marks (?) in the Device Manager.
... if there are, make sure to resolved them because that can cause issues. -
All clear from ! and ?
Would a chipset update be the next step? I know itsthe P45 chipset but what is the long code from intel? Google has unresolved my search -

Just to double check?
Also how do I uninstall the old driver, sorry for the dumb questions, my brain has shut off due to allergies this morning. Usually I should be able to do this but its hard enough to type this morning XD -
I think its this one.

I attempted to update but turns out I already have the latest chipset drivers.. faulty USB ports? or inability to accept this specific hub?
I have the keyboard partially working its like the port is throttling data regardless of which one i use, type a 3 seconds later type p
UPDATE
The problems start AFTER windows recognizes the hardware -
I can recommend to go into Device Manager.
go to Universal Serial Bus controllers:
- right-click and Uninstall all of the stuff under that category.
then restart the computer... Windows will be forced to re-detect and re-configure all of the ports. -
Unfortunately failed as well
