The prices are the same, even with different screens.

W/specs it comes out to $1599

    1920x1200-Matte
    or
    1680x1050-Glossy

Are both of these not LED screens?

I did read this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=327375 Just thought it would be cool as a poll.
    Thanks,
    -Ryan

If people say that the M860TU is a bit dark, which type of screen would make it seem brighter? I'm guessing glossy.

I'd say go with the 1920x1200 display. But the decision is completely up to your preference and how you plan to use your notebook.

    Both screens use fluorescent backlights.

my screen is glossy... Never saw the matte one but the glossy is very disturbing when it comes to reflection... any small light behind you will appear directly..

brightness is not an issue.. I never put mine on full brightness because it's too bright
