    Hi all,
I just want to share some information for those who are having black screen with the POST (power on self test) with their old clevo m860tu (my best laptop so far).

I changed my cmos battery had the same problem as in this thread :
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-m860tu-laptop-change-cmos-battery.685790/

You might have the same problem if your CMOS battery failed overnight.

It turns out I was able to start the computer with just one ram module. The bottom one has to stay empty (with just the top one, it will also fail). One successful POST, I updated to the latest BIOS and now everything is fine again (with both ram modules).
I did not need nor found a bios recovery mode with a shortcut like Fn+B.

So in case you see a black screen for no reason on start up, you might want to try to take the bottom ram module out.

I'm posting here because I almost threw my computer away, and did not find info on the web of a successful cmos battery change on the m860 tu.

(for admins : feel free to move this post wherever you think it will stay visible by m860tu owners who want to change their cmos battery )
