    Hi There

I've had the Clevo M860TU 15.4 for a while now an I'm starting to get permanent vertical lines showing up on the screen. I had one for a few months but in recent weeks it's up to 5. I guess the screen is on the way out.

Can anyone recommend a replacement screen seller please? It's currently WUXGA (1920×1200) at the moment. I'd like to replace it with the same if I can, if not anything will do. The rest of the laptop is running perfectly so I'm a bit reluctant to give it up. And is changing the screen over an easy job?

    Thanks!

    hi
can you take a picture of it and post it on here as it might not be your screen.
if its anything like attached then thats your graphics card on it way out.

also what part of the world are you in so we can point you in the right direction

Thanks for the quick reply. I've only got my phone at hand but taken a couple of pictures. It's hard to get a good picture of it. Hopefully the attached will show it. It's quite close to the image found at...

I've tested the HDMI out on the tv and that image comes out ok.

And sorry about not mentioning my location, I'm based in the UK. I got my laptop from Kobalt too.

    Thanks

    Got it. Thanks!

The gfx card is an Nvidia Geforce GTX 260M. The thing I like best about the laptop is the screen res so I'll be sad to see it replaced with a lower res one. Hard to find screens now that aren't limited to 1080 high.

I'm currently looking at http://clevoweb.co.uk. I've dropped them an email, they're about a 5 minute walk from my office so that would be handy. They have 768 screens in stock but nothing higher from what I can see.

I might give that a try. I emailed two places. One pointed me to an ebay auction for a Clevo M860TU LCD screen that's 1920x1200. The other said the Clevo has 8 panel options that all use a different connector so they need the panel part number. I guess that means taking it apart to find out.

I emailed back the one asking for the part number and they've point me at a screen that's list for...

    Dell Latitude D820 D830 D800 D810 m65
    Studio 1535
    Alienware Area-51 m15x
Dell Precision M70 D810 6000 WUXGA LCD Screen RC909 LG Phillips

The part number is LP154WU1 15.4".

Shall give this one a try I think.

    Thanks for all the help.

    @luggage,
As an owner of an M860TU, my native screen resolution is 1680x1050. I read that the replacement screen (besides being a matte screen) has a native resolution of 1920x1200. Did you have any issues at all with this? Thanks in advance for your reply.

None at all. The M860TU I originally bought came with a 1920x1200 panel though so I don't know if there's any difference in connectors or anything because of that. There were just two connections, a small one that attached at the bottom (the picture attached), and a wider lcd one which attached to near the top.

You could try contacting the seller of that item, he was really helpful with mine and made sure I was getting the right thing. Seemed to know his stuff.
