I have a Clevo M865TU laptop, a digital TV device and an HDMI supported camera. I have 3 standart HDMI cables(2 of them cheap ones, 1 came with the TV device, all of them has yellow plates) and i have 1 more HDMI-mini HDMI cable for the camera. And i bought this cheap switch, 3 inputs 1 output.

I have a 24" BENQ gaming monitor, with 1 HDMI input.

As i listed my equipment i can tell about my problem :)

All the cables work well if i connect devices directly(laptop-monitor, TV device-monitor, camera-monitor).Using the switch camera and TV device connects in any combination without problems but even alone i wasn't able to connect the laptop and the monitor. Switch and laptop are connected because the red light turns on, but the monitor says no signal and swithces to standby position. I turned on and off all the devices, switched cables, but couldn't find a solution. I read that it can be a problem about handshake but couldn't find a solution for it.

So, what can the problem be, and how may i solve it?

BTW the laptop has an Nvidia 9800GS video card on it...

Connected a new laptop and the cables and the switch works fine. So the problem is my laptop, I'll try to find an update.

It may have to do with the HDMI version of the notebook, does the switch say anything about a minimum standard requirement?
