I was wondering if I could upgrade my laptop screen to a 120hz screen. My current laptop is the clevo N150RF ( https://www.notebookcheck.net/Schenker-XMG-A516-Clevo-N150RF-Notebook-Review.159486.0.html) with the LG philips LP156WF6 panel.
I believe my panel is the http://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/LG-PHILIPS-LP156WF6-SPB6-15.6__169739.asp which should be the same as the replacement listed on this site http://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/CLEVO-N150RD-15.6-LAPTOP-SCREEN__158151.asp.
I found one panel that might fit but I was wondering if someone knew if this would work. Also there might be a different panel. http://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop/AU-OPTRONICS-AUO-B156HTN05.2-15.6__183900.asp
Would I also need something else to replace upgrade my screen, like a new connection cable or special screws.

I already posted this thread on the linus forum and asked my clevo reseller but both we're not sure if this would work. Was wondering if someone on this forum knew more about this stuff.

IIRC the pin count increases for the 120hz screens due to the bandwidth requirements.

I believe they are both 30 pin. Not sure if this is what you meant tho.

The pin count is identical to the LP156WF6-SPXX, but in most cases I've seen, swapping in this AUO panel results in brightness controls being disabled. That will be the risk.

Definitely report back your results though, if you do try. Especially if brightness controls do wind up working.

So I found this inside my package. Don't think this one is going 120hz any time soon.

I take it they shipped a "compatible panel" with the specs listed on their website :/ Well at least you can still return it.

Not sure why they shipped this panel as it isn't the one I ordered. Even my pdf receipt had the one which I ordered.
Also this panel has different specs.

The listing says compatible for, which technically it is. It fits and runs. Not great though. I usually do make sure via email first they have the exact panel in stock.

Damn, I did not read that very carefully. Didn't even notice it.
