After reading the Q&A I really like the idea of buying one of these notebooks. I have been looking for something gaming wise for a while now and would of probably went with a m15x if they did it in black.
The only problem is i dont want a "re branded" system. I was looking at the R & J Technology website which can send you a "barebone" system out, Only problem is i live in the UK.
What im looking for here really is; Has anyone purchased from this site and had it shipped over to the UK? What sort of price did they pay? Was there shipping charges / extra VAT etc?
The whole thing costs roughly $1556 for the configuration i would be interested in. Which works out about 950+ UK pounds according to google.
Thanks

What do you mean, not "re-branded" ? ALL Clevo's are re-branded - Sager is the best known re-brand in the US - it is still a Clevo.
Take a look at the stickied Clevo guide thread at the top of this forum.
There is no such thing as a Clevo NP8662 - it is a Sager NP8662 - which is the same as a Clevo M860
In the UK you can buy one from e.g. Kobalt Computers - it will then be a Kobalt Nexus, if I'm not mistaken. -
Maybe I misunderstood - you want a Clevo that has the name Clevo on it?
I have never seen one, but maybe you can. -

Clevo never prints their name on their computers, though I wish they did. Most newer Clevo's come with Style Note badges that you, or the redistributor, can put on. As for me, I didn't put on my Style Note badges just so my notebook can be incognito to Apple users.
You can custom print the Clevo logo on the back of the display if you want to in the future. I have vectored a few variations of the Clevo logo if you want to purchase a copy. -
Sorry guys, i was under the impression places like kobalt would put there logos on the laptop etc. Is kobolt the cheapest option i have over in the UK then?
-
Ordered mine from RJ tech. It was shipped faster then CPU from Malasya.
-
Why don't you want a logo on the machine anyway? -
CNCR - If it's price you're worried about then it's cheaper to get the model from OCUK here. All for under £1,000.
You will get a CPU/HDD included with that and warranty.
It will not have any added logos on the chassis. -
In the UK, check out these Clevo vendors:
As for the sticker, you can always peel it off and put on your own
.... and no, Clevo does not have a specific "Clevo" sticker.... only generic ones that says "Notebook" or "StyleNote"
You can also look into getting a custom notebook skin or custom paint job if you really want to make it your own. -

As theriko says we usually do put our own logo on (as all resellers do), we actually don't have one on the outside of the Nexus at present though. -

some vendors will try to get you to buy from them through different ways.
the most common way is through price.
Kobalt prides themselves on excellent customer service, so their prices are slightly higher.... which to a consumer could be a good thing if they are unsure about dealing with issue if it ever arises.
if you read the Clevo Guide.... bottom section... I laid out what to look for and do when purchasing a notebook. -
Kobalt's service is top dollar though (from my own experience) OCUK have a decent service and were able to answer my questions very quickly and very reasonable.
Where OCUK excel is with speed and delivery. I was able to get a stress tested machine within two-days of ordering and no, the packaging wasn't a half-a*sed rush job. -
I would recommend both Kobalt and Novatech for the M860TU.... I only really have personal experience with Novatech as I have just written a review on it. They also have a competitive price although you dont have all of the warranty options available with Kobalt. It is also completely free from branding and is essentially a generic M860TU...
