    Hi,

I'm trying to replace my laptop, and through my searches I got more and more into Clevo.

My goal is a 2000 EUR laptop, 17 inch, with good cooling, because I live in a hot country, reliable and durable and preferably good quality display. Gaming AAA titles, graphic design and binge watching netflix :)

I live in EU, so I'll have to order online.

Size and battery matter almost zero for me, and I'd prefer simple design.

I'm somewhat confused by the many models that get different model numbers when looking on vendors websites. Also reading about major producers in EU, I'm scared of the negative reviews some get (like tuxedo about delays in service, or bestware). Is there any you can recommend ?

Using clevo.com.tw I made a list of models, and it seems that for gaming I'll have to buy something based on PC7*, PB7* or X170 series. Which one of these has better reliability and heat management in your experience ?

Another concern I have is that I keep reading about constant BIOS update and lack of support for Windows 10. While I'm computer illiterate, I'm at an age where updating my bios and debugging problems very often is not fun anymore, and I'm numbly settled with Windows. Last time I had a Linux was Elementary before being popular, and just for fun 2 weeks :). Is tinkering all the time an actual issue? I understand Clevo has a more enthusiast side, do you think it's not a good idea for someone like me, should orient myself towards some of the "mainstream" brands?

Do you have any other worthy advice for a Clevo newbie, if I should go on this route ?

    Thank you !

You may want to ask in our Clevo forum as many people there have these laptops and can tell you what is different about them.

TongFang notebooks are also worth looking at. There are many discussions on them in our Other Manufacturers forum.

Windows 10 support should not be a problem for any modern laptop. And generally, you don't have to do BIOS updates unless there are critical problems. I never do them unless I have a problem I need to solve or it offers some noticeable benefit.

    Hi,

    Thank you !

    Hello,

Does anyone has any experience with XMG ?

I'm interested in either XMG Neo 17 or XMG Pro 17. Which one is better display, thermal management wise and build quality ? The reviews say that Neo is better with Display and Pro with heating, however on some other forum I saw a Schenker representative saying Neo is better with heating.

There is a reseller review sub forum and I'd be surprised if they don't get a mention.
