I know the dimensions and weight differences - but is there a visual representation of the differences out there? I've looked via Google and on YouTube and I could not dig anything up. Can someone point me to one? I'm now debating just going with the 17" model due to the 220W PSU and the extra storage bay. It's really not that much bigger from a dimensions perspective and the weight is only ~2lbs. more (and the 15" is already a brick :p).

I'm saying you can take those dimensions and make your own visual representation for size differences.

Edit: your thread title is very misleading

    Not sure if this helps.

The 13", 15" and 17" MBP next to each other. There isn't that big of a difference (if close to none) when having the P150EM and the P170EM next to each other :)

Haha. Keep reaching. The title represents exactly what I want. A size comparison - video or pictures or anything. Everyone already knows the dimensions and weight. And no, I'm not going to throw something together with crap around the house. I want to actually see what I'm buying.

Thanks for trying I'm just saying please read the thread next time.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking...as in the 17" doesn't look much different from the 15" really...I mean it is smaller/more portable but it's not in the MBP realm by any means so maybe just "go all out" since I'm already getting a big gaming laptop. Hmm.

Would still love to see actual pictures of a Sager or Clevo 15 versus 17.

Well, that's all I got :p maybe you can add the dimensions of your current machine so you have something that you can compare them to?

If you get some pics, be sure to post em here!

Well this is a very crude method of doing stuff. I would do it except I can't spend time on photoshop because of exams (yet I'm still here....).

Take the images from the galleries at Sager NP9170 / Clevo P170EM - XOTIC PC - Sager Custom Gaming Laptop and Sager NP9150 / Clevo P150EM , then using the keys (top view) and the ports (side/back view) as a standard size, scale the images that you have.

That should give you a rough idea. Also, the pics are old but I don't think that the model dimensions have really changed significantly.

If you really want to be accurate, then try to find stills from the youtube videos available online and using the same reference points.

To get yet more real world comparison, take an image of an object you have around your house and scale it down to the size of the laptop and overlay that on top of your laptop images.

    Here you go:

(IMO, Clevo's keyboard layout could be improved upon. The 17.3" one is inexcusable with too much wasted space. A small right shift key on a 17.3" laptop? Come on.)

I know that it's already been shown with pictures but there are plenty of size comparison tools online. Here is an example with a 6110 vs 9150 vs 9170.
    Sized Up: 9170 vs 9150 vs 6110

This thread is one of the reasons I went P170EM. More storage, beefier PSU (more OC headroom), and it's really not that much bigger than the P150EM. :)

My issue with the 17" is the heatsinks in the back don't get any larger... Got all that extra space and they use the same heatsinks as the 15" to save on production costs and I don't like that. They should be uncompromising when it comes to heat. Cram as much cooling capacity as you can in there!

True - and the keyboard is the exactly same, too. Lazy! Ah well. Clevo can't knock everything out of the park. I think they've done pretty well with both models.

If they only made the 15.6" with a brushed aluminum I'd be quite happy. I don't like that they use a 15.6" keyboard in the 17" either. There's plenty of room to add a full sized keyboard or better way to make use of the space. I don't see the point of the 17" other than adding a second HDD plus optical, something that most other vendors do in a 15" machine.

Yeah, the only benefits you get from going with the 17" is larger screen and extra hard drive bay. Most everything else is completely common with the 15". But you have better screen options in the 15" and these days how many people need/use an ODD that they can't utilize it for a second drive bay. Looking at that size comparison again, just surprisings how close in size they are, and common keyboard just kills it for me.
