    Impressions

Display: very bright and impressive matte screen. viewing angles are excellent. my only gripe is that the screen always has a brownish tint. white never looked as white. Also, bright colors like red, yellow and orange appear too smudgy and too high in contrast. it just hurts my eyes. i don't know if this is side effect of the calibration. any suggestions are welcome.

P.S. this is my first matte screen laptop.

LCD bezel: I didn't like it. What is the point of having a matte screen when the bezel is too glossy. it reflects lot of light and hurts my eyes. i say this is a poor design choice.

Build quality and looks: Strongly built. no creaky sounds when i move the laptop around. on the other hand, the material looks like cheap plastic. this is not a stylish laptop. very plain looks.

Keyboard & track pad: meh.. just OK. track-pad buttons require too much pressure to click. same with the keyboard, key strokes doesn't feel slick. key placement is weird too.May be it just takes some getting used to.

Sound quality: Onkyo speakers. Not bad. it cant compete with the JBL speakers on my old Dell XPS 15. It has a sub-woofer on the bottom. But, i didn't feel anything even when i put it in my lap. overall, good speakers, not great.

Wireless: Download speeds are great. But general browsing is not consistent. i am not sure if this is a problem with my router. I did a comparison by opening the same websites on this and my old dell. dell is working very fast. Clevo is taking 50-60% longer. I still have to do some more testing. I didn't have a chance to play online multi-player games. i will update this section soon.

Start-up/Shutdown: Extremely fast. start-up and shutdown takes 8-12 seconds approx.

    Windows experience index: 7.3

Gaming: As of now, I only played Dishonored which is a medium demanding game. very smooth game-play at constant 60 fps. all the settings on high, full-hd resolution. I will upload some more statistics like temp, fps etc after playing bf3, crysis, metro....etc

About the wireless speed, try playing with the Killer wireless settings.

The default setup had programs using all the bandwidth and not leaving any for other.

Great buy! Clevo is rough, if you expected stylish design and smooth edges you are in for a dissapointment. The trackpad and keyboard are "aquired tastes", after a month you will love them......

It does sound as if you have very sensitive eyes tho, reflections on the bezel make your eyes hurt? thats something to be worried about, seriously.

    cheers

:D i am obviously exaggerating about my eyes hurting. but the glossy bezel is definitely a distraction if you are sitting near a strong light source. makes me wonder why clevo built it like that, considering rest the laptop body is all matte surface...strange!!

Thanks for your suggestion, but i am not talking about games here, just normal internet browsing..i read somehwere that killer cards are actually good for gaming and slightly slow for general browsing when compared to intel cards. looks like that is the case here.

By the way the bezel can be replaced by yourself,
Do a search in the forum, somebody didn't like it either and replaced.
if I'm not mistaken some of the resellers sell it.

I don't think I will ever acquire a taste for the trackpad. Its rough, has uneven ridges and feels like something that would be on a $5 toy laptop. On the the other hand I got the 17" which is clearly a desktop replacement so I will never be using the trackpad.
