I have a Clevo P150HM that will not turn on. It was on overnight and now the power supply light blinks and the laptop will not even hint at turning on. No lights on the computer, I've tried a different power supply and I took the back panel off to see if there's anything out of the ordinary. There are no burnt components and nothing smells burnt. Any ideas? My thought is that there is a short somewhere on the motherboard.

    hi
second one in 2 days hmmm.

could be the psu power brick especially as the light is blinking.
    try an EC reset
remove mains and battery and then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds.
then try mains power without battery installed. then try battery on its own.

is the power brick getting warm or hot and is it making any sort of buzzing noise.

sadly bottom line is it could be the mobo.

Take out the graphics card and see if the system powers up also, since a short on the GPU could stop it starting at all.

Bingo! When I removed the heatsink, there were scorch marks on the thermal tape and it looks like a component blew, shorting a section of the board. No more flashing power supply, but I now I need a GPU. +rep
