    Hi guys,

I'm looking for a 15.6" gaming laptop. Main importance for me is to game and the screen. I love high quality screens! I was planning on going with a P150SM. Is there anything I should be aware of? Any better choices?

Also, will a GTX 770M from an alienware 18 fit on it? Seems like they are all MXM3.0 type B, so it should work I'm assuming.

    Thanks

    Hi !
The Clevo p150SM have a really good screen, the 95%Gamut is simply the best, and even the normal 60% is the best in his category ! ( really good viewing angles !)
    About the gtx770m :
I think it will be ok, but you will have to make a VBIOS update to a clevo VBIOS ( you can find this in techpowerup database )

the main trouble about this clevo is relatively high noise on idleing, and bad speakers. you can still see the review i made :D ( link in my signature )

    Thanks Elipsus,

is there any dangers to upgrading VBIOS? I know with MSI I heard you could brick the system by messing with the bios. I really don't want to risk anything. I will read your review, thank you for doing a review!

In my experience (on a gtx675m and my actual gtx770m ) , i didn't had any problems ( i made like 20 BIOS flash ), and i was flashing directly in Windows.
Even if you have trouble , you can still refalsh your orginal VBIOS in DOS mode.
I recommend you to always have a bootable flash drive with orignal VBIOS +nvflash , just in case :D

Actually a bad vbios can brick the system so tread carefully.

i didnt think the dell cards would work in a clevo even with a bios flash but im no expert on that so take no notice.

ive got last years EM model and its almost silent on idle. it ramps up when gaming but what notebook doesnt.
ive also got the standard matte screen and its ruddy brill and the best screen ive ever used.

That's a clevo card that also works in alien ware machines. It does not mean the reverse is true.

Good point. So there's no documentation whether the alienware 18 cards will work with the clevo?

    It's likely to be no.
