    Hey there,

Just upgraded my P150SM from 670m to 980m but it doesn't recognize the card.
The card is 100% working because I tested it on other device.

I've read about a modded bios from @Prema but unfortunately the links are unavailable so if anyone got a solution to this I'd gladly appreciate it.

The thought of buying a new card and not being able to use it, meaning I wasted that much money, makes me go crazy .

When I get into bios under VGA it says Unknown device but under Task manager it recognizes the 980m.

If it's working in windows then the BIOS does not matter (it's just a lookup table that displays some text, it does nothing else)

But when I run benchmark or any game it wont use the 980m but uses the integrated intel graphic instead.

Did you install the drivers yourself or just plugged it in and Windows grabbed some random old drivers?

Can you run the stress test built in GPU-Z on the 980m?

I would start by downloading the latest 980m drivers, then using DDU, disable WiFi/disconnect ethernet cable, remove ALL GPU drivers, reboot, install latest Nvidia drivers and see how it goes.

Not sure if you need modded drivers or not.

I installed and modded the drivers myself because it wouldn't install stock drivers without modding them.

I run the stress test but nothing happens.

I did all of the above but it's the same, didnt help.

Even if you right-click and select run with high performance graphics adapter(Nvidia).

Yeah that's the first thing I did.

When I run 3D Mark 11 and select to use the Nvidia GTX 980m this is what I get: https://ibb.co/GQL8rxs

I take it you enabled the activity icon and it never lights up? Programs like MSI afterburner wont display temperatures/clocks. It's either a dead card or some sort of vbios incompatibility.

The card is not dead since it's been tested on other notebook and it worked.

    P.s. @Prema
