Like the title says. I got a Clevo P150SM-A model with 880M GTX.

I did my research and before I ordered the 980M GTX I saw whether it would be compatible to install such a card to my machine. I also upgraded my BIOS to the new prema BIOS in order for 980M GTX to be recognized.

Unfortunately, after installation of the card and restarting of the PC, apparently BIOS cannot recognize the video card.

    VGA: N/A
    vBIOS: N/A

After a few seconds into BIOS setup (or into anything really) it starts to make single beeps with a medium interval between them. The beeping noise doesn't stop and the only reason that I still got signal to my monitor is probably the integrated graphics card that does work.

I tried to take the card off, clean everything and reinsert it. I also reinstalled my old 880M GTX card which works fine.

Could someone tell me what could be possibly be wrong with this card? The retailer is telling me that it could be a BIOS issue and that 980M GTX might need to run under UEFI setup. My latop is not setup as UEFI btw.

However, no matter what setup you got shouldn't the card be at least recognized in BIOS?

Thanks for your answers in advance.

Just an update. I managed to make BIOS recognize the card by installing it again after cleaning the pins. I also managed to install Nvidia drivers fine. The problem is that the beeping starts again 10-15 mins in Windows (20 beeps then it shuts down). Then I start loosing the card characteristics in GPU-Z and cannot run any 3d applications.

I have to turn down the laptop for 30 mins to be able to see the card in BIOS. It is not heat related since I checked.

Moreover, I tried to take off each RAM on ever possible bank (as some people on other threads reports). It did not help.

I am back to my 880M GTX without any problems.

    Any help?

Either bios or the card. Since the card was a brand new one from EUROCOM, let's assume it's not the issue immediately.
Could be your flashed the wrong bios maybe.
Anyone have a link to a bios he can use ?
