    Hello!
I'm new to this forum but i read it for some time. Can some experts tell me is it worth to upgrade my current machine? I mean Cpu and /or Gpu upgrade.
1 Cpu: Currently installed i7-4810MQ . I was planning to upgrade it to i7-4940MX Extreme edition. Can you tell me is it worth to go ahead with it? Do i need a special bios for it (currently on stock bios American Megatrend 4.6.5 dated 03.05.2015)? Maybe need better cooling?

2 Gpu: Currently fitted Nvidia Geforce GTX-970M. I was planning to replace it with Geforce GTX-1060M.But do i need for it external display? I would like to use internal display. Maybe i need to upgrade bios ? Or maybe buy GTX-980M instead? PSU is at standard 180W.
Sorry for my English , i'm not native to this language.

    Regards

    1. Typically no, the 4xxx series could go +400Mhz over stock IIRC, the biggest limit being the TDP but with some playing you could get some nice results. Have you tried yet?

    2. 1060M from what I have seen will work on the internal display. Be sure to get a standard shaped card (like yours is now).

    1. I didn't plan to overclock CPU ,just been thinking if new CPU + new GPU will give me much more result comparing to existing config.
    2. Do i need modded bios for GTX1060M?
