    Hi!
My clevo's mic picks up any sound but my voice. Tapping on the chassis and running a fan in the background are both picked up but my voice isn't.
I tried updating to the latest drivers but no help there. Any suggestions?

Did you try using a different voice? :p

Is all the ambient noise it picks up clear? And have you checked the recording devices in the Windows sound settings? Sometimes you need to adjust the gain there for the mic.

Well when I up the gain the ambient noise amplifies but my voice sounds muddled and quiet. The ambient noise sounds nice and clear, but not my or others voices. It's the strangest thing.

Hmm, that's odd. I know the mic isn't very sensitive, but if it can pick up ambient noise... and you've tried varying distances between you and the mic? Is it with any software you use that utilizes the mic, or only with one or more specific programs?

Try rightclicking on the speaker icon on the bottom right, select recording devices, turn off "what you hear" if its there. If not right click in that windows and pick "show disabled devices" and then unclick it if it shows up.
