    So I think I'm finally decided to get the Metabox Clevo P151HM1 (NP8130) from affordablelaptops in Australia

    I cant decide what screen to get. The choices are

    1. Standard Matte - LP156WF1 (TL)(B1)

    2. 95% Gamut Glossy - B156HW01 V7 (For + $50)

    Glossy gives higher perceived brightness whereas matt fares much better in bright rooms and outdoor under strong sunlight.

    95% gamut offers more vibrant colors than 60% gamut but requires calibration to do well. In case you opt for the 95% gamut glossy or matt, do take a look at this thread about the red ghosting issue, of which Sager and the resellers are aware and are doing extra QC and screening before shipment.

    Check out this thread for detailed comparisons of all options on 15.6" and 17".

    If you check around, most people here that have gotten the 95% screens have loved them. The red ghosting issue was a temporary problem, but as zeio noted, it's being carefully checked for. The 95% screen has much more vibrant colors so it's a decent choice for anyone looking for great color reproduction.

    The specific screen models for the P151HM1 are B156HW01:

    v.1 = Stock matte screen, 60% color gamut
    v.4 = Matte upgrade, 95% color gamut
    v.7 = Glossy upgrade, 95% color gamut

    As for matte or glossy, check out this thread:

    I personally like glossy screens because it's all I've owned and I prefer their look to matte. I may be in the minority though because lots of others here recommend the matte upgrade :)

    Matte vs Glossy comes down to where and what you will be using your comptuer for. Matte is preferred when color accuracy is important. Things like photo editing or graphic design when you need to have the best color representation go matte. Glossy is preferred for gaming as they are more vibrant making colors pop more.

    The two you listed have a different gamut range. Matte is 60%, Glossy is 95%. For $50 more its worth having a monitor that can display more colors. If you can add the 95% matte to your options thats my personal preference

    Thanks for your reply guys I went with the Stock Matte Screen and instead upgraded the warranty to 3 years.

    @Malibal - I've had glossy screens in all my past laptops so went with something different. Never had a matte screen before, Hopefully this will be good

    @Hutsady - They were only offering the above 2 screens with the P151, the 95% Gamut Matte is available on the P150 Model

    I just switched out the stock glossy in my NP 8150 to a v.4 and I am very very happy. I am sure the v.7 is just as impressive with the gloss but I guess it comes down to if you need the wider gamut as well. I am a pro photographer and the ability to have a wide gamut matte screen on my laptop is amazing. For me I would have taken the gloss if it was the wide gamut option and put a non glare over on it, but the wider gamut is pretty amazing in a laptop.
