My P151HM1 has been acting up recently. When I start it up, it's completely normal for a minute or two, but it then starts beeping. It sounds like a smoke detector going off. The sound alternates between my plugged in headphones and my computer's speakers. After a little of this, it shuts down.

If I try to do a System Repair, my computer shuts down after one or two minutes without the beeping. This seems to be a hardware problem, but could any of you tell me exactly what it is?

    Thanks.

Probably overheating. Try opening the bottom cover, see if the fans and heatsinks are blocked with dust.

No, I've never updated the BIOS. Is that something I should do?

As previously stated, this is much more indicative of a thermal shutdown than anything.
When was the last time you opened it up and blew the dust out of the fans and heatsinks?

I just cleaned the fans, but there was a lot of dust stuck between the fan pockets and the heatsink vents that I couldn't get out. My computer is running better, and it only starts beeping when the fans run faster than me idling at the computer. I'm watching the temperatures of everything, and everything looks mostly okay. My graphics card is hovering around 52C, occasionally jumping to 70C, which causes the fans to run faster, which causes beeping.
