    Hey guys,

Can anyone tell what are the differences between the Clevo P151HM1 and the Clevo P150HM? I am asking this because i had a look at my sales receipt today and i saw the they billed me for a Clevo P151HM1 barebone even though CPUZ clearly states that the mainboard on my laptop is a Clevo P150HM. I understand that this may be a simple mistake of the store that i bought my lappy but i am asking to get everything clear.

Is the casing plastic or rubbery?

Is your power adapter 180W or 150W?

Is the screen display info AUO10ED or AUO11ED?

Yes to all of those, because CPUZ WILL say its the same motherboard, because it IS the same motherboard. Clevo P151HM1 and the Clevo P150HM share the same board. So that would be why. But yea the easy way to tell is the screen glossy or matte?

The sticker underneath says it's a P151HM1, the screen is glossy i suppose...as for the the power adapter i can't figure it out. It is a lite on but it doesn't say the watts.

    Watt = Current * Voltage.

Tell us what the current on it is, as well as the voltage.

Now why couldn't you put a better video card in it, matte screen!

They share a motherboard but there are other internal differences (read cooling and power) that only lets the 8150 have upgrades. Trust me, we wish it was that simple of a difference :D

So I guess the P151HM1 is better than the P150HM ? Right ?
I am generally interested only in the light 17inch notebooks, like the 170HM. I think there is only one model here, not two.

The P150HM has the bigger power brick etc so it will have more upgrade options, so that one is the better of the two if upgrade options are what you are looking at.

P150HM has the bigger power brick, doesn't it?

    I thought P151HM1 was the np8130, and the P150HM was the np8150.

Yes, yes it does. And those are correct. My ability to type the right model number in my post however, is in question  But I have edited my post to correct that.

The 8130 can't support the top end video cards, but that makes it cost a couple hundred less and I think its lighter.

I think that both of them weight the same (3.1 kgs). As for the upgrade option i didn't know that you can't upgrade the P151HM1's VGA. I assume the CPU is upgradable though..Also i didn't get that about the rubber paint, mine's matte..

Momma always said 'It's not the size of your power brick its how you use it'

    She was on crack.

I'm pretty sure if I stick in a more powerful fan and get a bigger brick, that my 8130 will be able to support a better VGA.

It's just a matter of money

Essentially the same as the P150HM- you can upgrade everything yourself (except for the motherboard). RAM, HDD, screen, wireless, GPU, etc can all be done by the user. Just note that the parts that are upgraded aren't covered by warranty.

I have a confusion. People keep saying both have different cooling systems. Apparently according to all the photos I have observe, both are the same. So did they mean different "heatsink" or actual "cooling system"

I was initially told that P150 and P151 had different cooling and that P150 had better cooling for better video card (namely 6990M and 580M).

However, I was corrected that they both share the same cooling, just bigger powerbrick for P150 (Sager 8150) and that P150 has rubberized surface.

I've handled an Alienware before and it has rubberized surface also. I think (correct me if I am wrong) rubberized surface can be a con since it can be peeled off. At least Alienware's rubberized surface can.

The cooling systems are identical. However, the heatsink varies depending on the GPU installed - not the laptop. The heatsink used by the 560m wouldn't fit on a 6990, etc. It's not a P150HM versus P151HM1 thing.
