As the title says, ive noticed the card only runs at a max core clock of 705.5 mhz. Multiple games were tested. I've got power management setting set to "maximum performance" which should in theory make the card run at full speed.

Nvidia support says that it's a VBIOS issue, which i suppose would mean that all clevo laptops of the same model have the same problem. Anyone else noticed this?

To be more specific : The core clock is maxed out at 705.5 mhz for multiple games that i tried, although there was one in which the core clock ran at full speed.

Maybe it's a driver issue. I haven't checked for games or anything since the only game I really play is League of Legends and it's fairly light on resources but when I ran benchmarks (Furmark) and stuff on mine it was at 850mhz or something.

I agree with I'm Poor, get something that you know really maxes it out like Furmark Furmark - Download, see if that makes it max out.

Furmark maxes it out but most of my games will only make it run at 705.5 mhz core.

I see what you mean though. Seems to arbitrarily stop at 705.5 mhz when playing games.

What games are you playing? Maybe the card just doesn't need to run at full speed to deliver 60+ fps.

That's what i thought, so i tried running a game(Vindictus) at the highest settings, which dropped the FPS down to about 40 and it was quite choppy. The card stayed at 705.5 mhz. Also nvidia support says maximum performance means the card will run at max speed all the time....

Temperature of GPU while gaming? Possibly throttling due to heat? Shouldn't think so but you never know...

There's definitely something up with either the board or the drivers. Whether the game needs it or not, I should be able to force it to clock up. It just arbitrarily stops at 705.5mhz.

This is most confusing. You are running from socket and not on battery, yes?

Battery would keel over with 705mhz, I am getting a sager 770M to test myself soon so I will figure out if it's a vbios problem or a sys bios issue.

Yes im running on socket. By 50 degrees i meant celsius.

Someone on another forum told me that the core clock is actually 705 mhz and anything higher requires the turbo boost function to activate. But the GPU is listed with specs of 811 mhz. Thoughts?

Yeah, but even so it won't even let me OC it via MSI Afterburner. Something's locked. I'm seeing people with 765m's with 900+ mhz clock.

I tried asking about that on the MSI afterburner forum but i just got the standard "it's not fully supported" excuse....

I think it's definitely a Nvidia driver issue. When playing League of Legends for example, it runs at 705.5 mhz when I'm playing in borderless or windowed mode, but if I play in full screen mode it runs with the GPU Boost to the max at 862 mhz. I think if you go into the Nvidia Geforce Experience panel and click optimize for that game it may set it to what is supported by the card as far as that GPU Boost is concerned. At least that's what I did that worked even though LoL is fairly light and 200 fps is pretty useless.

Edit: I'm using GPU-Z and looking at the Sensors tab.

Boost may only apply to full screen 3d, that's interesting.

Well currently running an MSI vbios on the sager card but it boosts up to nearly 1ghz during 3dmark with the +135mhz.

What happens if it doesnt turbo boost? Or when you are using a sager vbios?

My temps are always low so it always maxes the turbo.

I've had very little time to test at the moment so will have more results soon.

Any chance you would happen to know fi Clevo downclocked it to 705.5 mhz?

GPU boss seems to list the 770m clock at 705.5mhz. Is that wrong?

I dont know, but nvidia has repeatedly insisted that the GTX 770M comes with 811 core mhz by default and manufacturers are free to change that.

What nvidia says is of little relevance to mobile cards. 862mhz is the turbo speed and 706mhz is the base speed for all the available models.

Do you mean that 706 mhz is the base speed for all clevo notebooks? Or all notebooks with this card?

My first thought is that it may be specific to the 151 to prevent overloading the 120W PSU.
