    Hello to all,

I have a Sager NP8170 (Clevo P170HM) and I believe that the GPU just died on me. (The screen turns all green with vertical bars whenever I try to run a game and I'm seeing green colours all over even on BIOS)

Unfortunately I´m not currently in the USA, but in Spain, so I can´t RMA to Sager so Might have to fix it myself.

Does anyone know where can I get GPUs for this model? I have an Ati 6990M

Even more unlikely but it's worth the shot...does anyone know any support service for Clevo laptops in Spain?

    thanks a lot

If comfortable removing the GPU you can send just that in instead of the whole computer. Contact your reseller to set that up if interested.

Why not just upgrade it instead? :)

Are you interested in a complete Clevo 7970M kit? Brand new. Flashed with HM vBIOS - fits directly into your laptop.
Can ship it to Spain of you like.
    I'm thinking €410 including shipping.

    Let me know!

Exact thing happened to me in 10th october with my P150HM + 6990m and i'm an exchange student in Germany ( who will stay here for 4 months). I've bought mine clevo from the turkish reseller of it ( Monster) so i've e-mailed them and they responded as " if you can send it to turkey, we can surely change the gpu." but i thought there will be high charges of customs etc. So i decided to give a shot for Clevo Germany. I've called them after i readed the response of the Monster guys ( and also mySN responded my e-mail by advicing me to get contact with Golden Star Computer GmbH) and after speaking some english, representative understand that i'm a Turkish citizen so he pass the phone to his friend and i'm able to communicate with their Turkish speaking representative. I was able to say my defection and he checked my serial number and said that they can fix it for free since they can see its warranty. After the phone conversation, I've packed my laptop in a rush with its sleeve+bag, and sended it to them in thursday. Today i've called them and try to speak with their german answering representative and if i didn't understand its german ( i have so so little german by the way), they haven't started to inspect it yet ( she said something like " It just arrived on friday, we are not so faast.") She finally adviced me to write an email about my concerns so i wrote.

I'm so so curious about it since i've just been in Germany for 2 weeks, and the whole thing was so difficult to me because i didn't estimated that things gone so bad in my exchange semester.

At this time, i'm just waiting an answer from them which may calm me down a bit; i've just eaten myself in this 3 days. So does anyone have an idea about in how many days will it be repaired?

you must check the Germany`s law`s (about repairing in warranty) here in Portugal it can takes up to 30 days, if more than 30 days you will get a new one or money back , but in your case (it`s about warranty) i don`t know , you can ask any person there how much it takes to arrive a product from warranty repair ...
