The issue won't be related to the ME but it's just generally good to keep things updated for best performance and longevity.

I suspect the issue simply isn't fixed 100% by Clevo or it could just be poor compatibility, regardless of what was recommended.

When was your motherboard replaced or am I miss-understanding?

One other thing you can try is swapping the the drives around to make sure it's not the device itself and see if the same port is causing the issue or if now the other. If the port changes doing that it's probably the device. If it already randomly goes between the two don't waste your time of course as it won't be that.

in Italy we tried another type of sdd, model 525 intel did not give positive results
This also responds Msata 4 Fail!
is a hardware bug, we have already 'cards replaced for a time, at first he did not see an mSATA channel
    this is not good
will be 'just a problem of the model 170SM?

    fixed board ?
this model is out by six monts ..

This should not be happening on the latest machines, but was a known issue with the early ones so ones sold by sager for instance did not advertise a 2nd mSATA port.

As Meaker mentioned Sager only advertised this with one mSATA slot even though two were physically there. There was a motherboard issue that the second once could drop data or have general issues which you are seeing. The replacement models which have the new hardware fix were release at the very end of July. If you purchased yours before that you may have a fist gen motherboard.

Going on what prema is saying that is a first revision board as your southbridge is revision 4 which js earlier than revision 5.

    hi guys , hi prema
for this problem I sent the computer in warranty
I have news that a user with the same problem, had to replace with a new release of the motherboard, from 3.5a to 3.6a
the problem does not seem to have been resolved
I look forward to my return P170S for testing
At this point I would understand if the problem is actually hardware or compatibility
I would also like to know if the bios press may invalidate the warranty
as a last test is to install your bios
repeat the initial error of the hardware specifications

My BIOS adds the latest RAID modules, so you can give it shot with the new board.

Most re-seller don't mind and actually support the Mod, but there are some that use it as an excuse not to give you warranty, even with things are unrelated to BIOS.
So to keep it simple we suggest to use the latest stock BIOS before sending it in for warranty.

Hey. I have a Clevo P170SM rev. 3.6A, my chipset rev is 06 and southbridge rev is C2 - that says CPU-Z. I want to install 2x msata drives, and im wondering if my Clevo is already bug free from second msata drive fail. My questions are:

    1. Is C2 mean 05 revision? I found that C1 is 04 rev and C2 is 05 of the southbridge.

    2. How do you test for the faulty port? I want to buy one SSD drive for now, and later buy a second one if second port works. How can i test if the second msata port is fine? Put the msata drive in the second msata port and do what?

I am planning to plug new ssd drive and test it under windows that is now installed on my primery hdd drive, but of course i want the OS on my msata drive, but I can't afford data corruption as i use the pc for work, and before i install OS on SSD i have to be rock-steady that SSD won't fail. After some testing of the second msata drive i am planning to buy a second SSD drive and make raid 0 matrix for OS + 1 small raid 1 for crucial data.

If the version is the one prema listed or later it's a fixed board.
