Long time reader first time poster (actually second but ...whatever haha).
After doing a bunch of research into what i can actually place in my laptop and what I can't i hit a few dead ends as far as upgrades goes and was wondering if someone in the community could offer some advice in the following categories as far as what options i have available to me. I would have contacted my system builder but @mythlogic seems to be MIA.
Upgrade to fans / cooling system
Updated Bios
Upgrade to RAM
Upgrade to GPU
Upgrade to CPU
Thermal GRizzly Conductonaut Compatible ?
Currently I am running a clevo P177SM-A (Nyx 1713-A Via Mythlogic) aka SAGER NP8298
Intel Core i7-4910MQ CPU 2.97ghz
GTX 880m
DDR3L-1600MHz
BIOS Version/Date MYTHLOGIC 1.03.03, 3/27/2014
SMBIOS Version 2.8
Based on my understanding I can throw a GTX 1060 without any issue (possibly have to upgrade to windows 10) and I haven't found a definitive answer as to whether i can install a GTX 1070, or what that would take to get it to work, or if there would be bottlenecks.

1070 cards in the right shape are rarer is the issue.
You can re-paste the CPU, clean the heatsink and then use intel XTU to tweak it. -
Where would i find a stable bios update for my machine?
And would you know off hand if i could install more powerful fans? Or modify the chassis for more airflow ? -

You can get the latest BIOS from our team still with the serial number.
Chassis modifications would normally be more of a last step. For now I would tune your voltage and frequency to get a good result and see if you need to go from there. -

The BIOS string is just a hard coded set of cards in the file, if it recognises it then it puts the text in the BIOS, if not then it says unknown. That ends the involvement of that BIOS string, it has no other interaction with the system so don't worry about that.

Maybe BIOS Update helps?

For the text string? I suppose but that's a lot of work just to make a line of text appear.
-
Maybe, I think a lot of upgrading the bios, conclusion : work as its needed? Yes . So the upgrade is useless.
