    Hello everyone,

I'm willing to buy a new gaming laptop, and I found two clevo that fulfill my specs needs completely : the P650 and the N150.

After reading some comments and reviews about these two laptops, I am bit concerned about the lid stability and flex, which seems to be even worse on the P650.

Having a lid that can flex easily if I try to bend it would not be a major issue for me, but given the fact that most of the time the laptop will be on my lap in the couch for surfing, and sometime on a desk for gaming, it would definitely be annoying if the lid is constantly wobbling/shaking when I'm typing on my lap.

I also saw a video of the P640 which seems to have a more solid lid, but the display size (14") is not my favourite.

If some owners could share their experiences/feedbacks about the lid stability for these three laptops, especially when typing with the laptop on the lap, that would be helpful.

    Thank you.

Why would you try to bend it??

The lid doesn't wobble much on either system (unless you were to give it a somewhat violent shake). "Flex" usually refers, specifically, to the rigidity of the LCD frame and back case, i.e. "can I bend it?" :vbtongue: Honestly, the P650 does have quite a bit of flex, despite being a great little machine.

Sorry for my misuse of words (french guy here), and thank you for the clarification about "flex" meaning :)

My former laptop is a clevo B5130M, which I could qualify as rock solid, so when I saw some videos about the P650 with that thin and wobbly lid, I was quite a bit concerned, but if you tell me that it doesn't wobble so much even on the lap, then I think I'll go for it.

Older P650 user here. I use it almost daily on my lap and I can confidently say there is no flex or lid wobble at all even with heavy typing. The lid's hinges are one of the most usual places of display wobbles and I can confirm mine are nice tight still after 10 months of heavy use. Now for lid flex, the only time you see it is when you move the laptop around or shake it hard (which IMO you shouldn't do very regularly :D) and when the lid is closed and you apply pressure on the backplate. I think you won't be disappointed with the laptop in this regard.

Not a problem! Your English is faaaar better than my French. You're doing great!

I think you will notice a difference in how "solid" or "robust" it feels. The P650 is built well, although most people agree that the lid could be a little more solid-feeling. If you shake the laptop hard, the screen will pivot at the hinges, but that's pretty normal of most laptops.
