I need more information about the P650 and 670 SE models.
.
The most important factor when I look at laptops is the build quality and the price range.
This laptop fits my price range and the only question that I have about this laptop is regarding the build quality.
At this point in time, there are seems to be no reviews that exist that specifically covers the features on this laptop. I need to know if there is any flex in the screen area (My HP Pavilion has damn too much flex to put into my bag with other materials). Also, I need to know if it is too thick to carry around in a bag and the quality of materials used in the laptop. Yes I am a college student. I know from experience that you're not supposed to carry around a gaming laptop in your bag, but my studies requires me to do so. If you have any other specifications about the laptop that you know, please leave your comments down below.
Also, if you feel like there might be a gaming laptop with these specifications and fits my price range, also please leave a comment below:
-GTX 970M
-good build quality (thrown-in-a-backpack-and-survive type quality), preferably aluminum material for the screen
-15 in. to 17 in. screen
-in the price range of up to 1300 USD
*Please I don't need comments telling me to buy a desktop with this money because I already have one.
Thank you.

why are you not supposed to carry gaming laptop in your bag? Just turn it off completely and let it cool.
HTWingNut has a couple review videos for the P650SE. https://www.youtube.com/user/htwingnut
The P670SE is basically the same. I've it. I would say backpack for 17" laptop is usually more expensive but that's about it. I've no trouble carrying it around (only the laptop and charger of course). The 17" can also fit a 9.5mm HDD and a 7mm SSD/HDD while the 15.6" can only fit 2 7mm SSD/HDD or 1 9.5mm HDD. -
By "bag" I meant a backpack. Technically, you could damage the product under heavy "load" (as in backpack filled with books and the laptop underneath it).

I have the P650SG (almost the same as the P650SE but with a GTX 980M) and I am also a college student. There is some flex in the display area, but as long as you are careful with it, I think you should be fine.
It shouldn't be too thick to be carried (I think it's exactly 1 inch thick), also it may depend on the quality on the backpack. My P650SG is something around 1.2 inch, and my backpack (Everki Beacon) fits perfectly. Maybe I have a bigger and more durable backpack, but for me, it fits great. -

Having a good bag with proper padding/protection, and make sure you don't rest the weight of the books on the computer, and you should be good to go.
My backpack could be heavy enough that my car thought a small child was sitting in the seat, as it had the warning light turn on because it thought someone wasn't buckled in the passenger seat. I wouldn't lay the backpack down with the computer on bottom and books on top. I would set it upright basically, so it wouldn't fall over, but then the books weren't pushing down on it. Never had any issues with any of my laptops in college that way. -

I tend to let my bag tip front side down in my car, this way the books are on the bottom and the notebook is on the top

You're looking at awesome laptops, both should be easy to take with you, while the larger screen is going to be a little more to carry around, if you are taking it with you frequently i'd go with the P650.
I've always kept the laptop in the part closest to my back, and then my books in other parts of the bag, that way you know to keep the back up when taking it off. -
Yes I do this too with my current laptop. However, I don't want to constantly check whether the weight of the rest of my bag is resting on my laptop. I have been doing this for several years and this is has been getting to me. I know this is very lazy of me but it can get tiring at times. If the value of the laptop is as good as I have looked into this laptop so far, I am willing to buy this laptop anyways. I just want to make sure of this first. Is it "that" good?
The laptop variant of the P650 and 670 RE model I will be buying will be the standard model with only the wifi module customization. (I'll have the chance to upgrade the laptop later on.) -

Yeah, overall those are pretty good models. They've been pretty popular for us. And if you want to do upgrades once you get it, that is pretty easy to do on those models.

I have an Everki titan, so I can get a lot in the bag
That's why I have to be careful.

The screen on my Sager is flimsy and does flex a lot. Just opening the screen causes it to flex. You can minimize this by ensuring you place pressure exactly on the center of the screen lip to lift it. Otherwise, use both hands. It's delicate enough to where I'm afraid to transport it in my padded laptop backpack. Other than that, the laptop is pretty solid.

Another question. Is the screen panel IPS or TN?
-
Support.1@XOTIC PC Company Representative
It depends on which screen you opt for, or where you buy it from. Sager has the options for TN or IPS.
-
I was thinking of buying it from Xotic PC.
