    Hi Guys

I had an issue with my Metabox / Clevo P650SE which needed a mobo replacement. Upon return I received a new issue. My battery icon had an X through it and wouldn't charge. When I hover the mouse over it, it states "Plugged in and charging", when I click on it, a box appears and showing battery symbol again saying its 100% charaged. Which is incorrect.

If I unplug power cord the PC dies immediately. It doesn't go into protection mode or anything.

So OK first I tried unplugging battery, unplug PSU and pressed power button for 30 secs to make sure no power on board...installed everything and same issue remains.

Tried again with deleting battery driver, same issue
updated BIOS to latest Clevo, same issue

Spoke to technician and although I never had a battery issue before he said replace battery. I reluctantly replaced battery. Guess what - didn't fix the issue. Now stuck with two batteries :>(

Spoke to technician again at Metabox (luckily I took extended warranty out). No new boards left so Clevo need to fix an old board and replace it. Happy to wait to get it fixed but has anyone had this issue before?

Should I ask for Metabox to reimburse me for the extra battery I had to buy? Obviously I can't return it.

    Regards

The charging circuit can have issues without impacting any other functions.
